Re: Whirlpool Oven AKZ161/WH hot oven problem

There will be a thermal cut out either on the top of the oven or down the back which is either defective or needs moving – when the oven gets too hot it cuts out the power to the clock, once the oven door is opened and the temperature goes down it resets itself until the oven overheats again.

    John,

Part number of dispenser is on the plastic moulding, if you can get it off we may have one kicking about.

Could you let us have the pnc number on the label with the model number then we can have a look at the manual for you – sounds very much like you have a auto defrost problem in the freezer.

    Re: Sand in Whirlpool 7460

The opaque container that you see underneath is the water softener assembly – water passes through this and then into the appliance. It is not directly connected to the wash area so discount this as having any connection to the sand in the system.

Re: Zanussi ZFC21JC chest freezer warning light

Firstly the temperature you should be running the freezer at is at about -18C not -25 all you are doing is wasting electric. The thermostat is designed to run with a 4 degree spread ie if set at -18C it will fluctuate between -16C and -20C outside of this the red light will come on. If you set the temperature too low the appliance will cycle on its compressor safety cut out rather than the thermostat.

Was aware of the 12 month thing but it’s unsustainable if we are now being told in writing by the likes of Connect that they will only guarantee the spares for 90 days. Congrats on the award – you’re in good company didn’t Kevin Heath win one from them :martin: (no malice intended)

    Re: D&G using 0800repair.com

It seems that there is something going on within D&G currently, in the last couple of weeks we have noted a vast increase in the number of rejections from them quoting the ‘your contract with us states that you have to guarantee this repair for 12 months’ As Ken stated earlier they also seem to be going down the track of fixed price repairs with some of the independents threatening to pass the work back to the manufacturer if they don’t get their way. As most of you will be aware Lindsey Moore has been moved over to the manufacturers desk leaving M in the independents chair. Anyone else heard anything??
