The gist is correct but that document is now out of date. Both DASA and the WTA have been approved by Defra/BERR to issue the certificates. At this time we are ploughing through the individual evidence of experience and will issue the certificates after midnight on 4 July 09 – the deadline.

So in the round you have a week to get the paperwork filled in and sent to Killy, or you will have to go on a 2078/79 to be legal.

Sparrowhawk – the certificate that DASA and WTA are offering is for the individual engineer. Therefore as long as an engineer is registered he is covered until 2011. It was made clear to us from DEFRA that companies would be dealt with differently but this did not exclude individuals from applying for certification. If for instance they were to move jobs they would be covered with their new employer because of their own certification.

No you can go anywhere you wish for the certificate, prices are different depending on who you go to but you must be registered by 4th July 2009 with evidence that you were working on hcfc (r134a) prior to 4th July 2008

If the last three on the main board are 103 or 203 then the programs are held on the facia board which reprograms the bottom main board when this is changed. If the facia board is faulty then you need a Servis PDA to reprogram it. If the board is not 546089203/103 then the board is preprogrammed. You then just change it, as mentioned earlier make sure you check the button keypad (facia) too as these have a habit of jamming and also causing the leds to flash
