OK to reiterate, Fact,we are seen by some manufacturers as being the rogues or rabble in the industry. Vinegar is a good analagy Ken. We can continue as we are (I dont have an issue with that) or else we can deflect some of the vinegar away by allowing shall we say, selected manufacturers to joint. One manufacturer has shown an interest. My concern is that as the industry implodes upon itself and we have a surplus of redundant engineers, those manufacturers have an abundant choice of where to go. Right now there are some desperate people out there. The choice is down to you guys, I’m only the mouthpiece of the WTA meetings. 😀

Right I have been mulling this over since the September 2008 meeting. At that time it was very difficult to get any manufacturers to even consider coming to the meeting, the February meeting was much better with more manufacturers on board. It now would seem to be a good time to invite some of the manufacturers to become associate members. Could I suggest that as a first stage we throw a sprat to catch a mackerel and offer free membership for the first say year but indicating that we would require some monies in the second year. At this point in time I dont think that we should offer any voting rights if ever (as with DASA) but maybe having afew on board would be sensible. This would dilute the common cry that we don’t represent the industry, even though we are in the majority.
Now you can blow me out of the water 😀

ModeratorRe: refrigeration & air con
If you want a domestic refrigeration course, going on the Grimsby College course will not meet your needs. This course is aimed at those that are considering going into industrial and commercial areas. I know I was that man. On the other hand if you contact Graham Dixon (who is on this site) he runs domestic appliance engineer courses and is looking at putting together a course for domestic refrigeration. Further he is located in Hull which makes him local to you. Perhaps Graham will contact you when he reads this post

Well baring in mind the retraction that has been made by Steve Murphy we either adopt your idea or let it die at birth. It is quite apparent to me that SM has been nobbled.
