Re: HELP BUILT IN DISHWASHER PARTS

Thanks for the info, anyone got a breakdown of the parts, if so are the springs attached directly between cabinet and door hinges?

(Haven’t been to see this machine yet but I don’t want to have to take it out twice, built in I think.)

Where can I get the parts from, supplier/phone no if possible?

    Many thanks

Re zan FL1085 I usually replace the spider and bearings on this machine.
    Spider UNT19 Bearings BKT08 QUALTEX.

I usually find that the Brushes will probably need replacing,if they have not been replaced previously.

Worth checking before you do the bearings as the total repair may not be cost effective.

Have you checked the stat near the top of the front housing between front of machine and the drum. not easy to get at though,it may be open circuit.

Re: WMA 20P replacement Drum /bearings

I always use an angle grinder to sort out the bolts on the spider, eg.cut through the spider arms as close as you can to the outer part of the drum. (make sure you use some safety goggles) Fit new spider and back part of drum with new bearings / seal already fitted.

I always refer the customer to the fact that they can have the job done by Hotpoint for aprox £90 if the machine is under 5 years old, under the free parts gaurantee, Haa, Haa.

It depends on how desperate the customer is to having the machine fixed,I can usually have it fixed next day, they usually have to wait several days before a Hotpoint engineer can call.

Most customers are happy with this because they save money in the long run if they are prepared to wait for Hotpoint, but the advise offered my me stands in good stead after the gaurantee runs out because they come back to me, for advice or repairs.

Have you tried turning off the water supply to the machine, if it stops filling then it is the inlet valve on the machine that is faulty.
