    Re: Smeg DWI614 in “C” mode

    Try this:

    Make sure the machine is switched off from the on/off switch on the control panel. Close the door. Open the door and switch on the machine using the on/off switch and within 3 seconds press the programme button 4 times then switch the machine off again.

    That should reset it.

    Re: Hotpoint WMA63 burning smell

    As no-one else has mentioned it, the bearings may be wearing which would explain the belt position on the pulley.

    Is the machine noisy on spin (rumbling etc) ?

    If the belt was badly worn/stretched it would have fallen off by now ๐Ÿ˜‰

    We can’t obviously judge on the quality of the repair but repairing blown tracks on PCB’s etc is quite accepted and common practice ๐Ÿ™‚

    I found this:

    Defy wrote:ยป DEFY OWNERS OUTSIDE SOUTH AFRICA
    It may be possible that the freight and import taxes far exceed the economic viability of importing parts. Therefore we suggest that you contact your local repair and spare specialist and try to obtain compatible parts, e.g., where this may be possible:

    * Compressors and thermostats for refrigerators.
    * Spiral and solid plates, switches for these plates.
    * Thermostats, elements for stoves, ovens and hobs.

    In case of front load autowashers, the original design was a European origin and items such as motors, fan belts, thermostats and timers may have compatibility with other products in your country.

    However, should all else fail the parts can be supplied ex South Africa by sending an email to iholland@defy.co.za.

    The following information is required:

    * Model number
    * Serial number
    * Description of item
    * Function of item

    Unless anyone else knows ?

    Maddocks are probably a god bet as well.

    Re: Ocean Fridge/Freezer Controls

    That’s because Brandt make this model for Comet (Proline is their brand name or one of them).

    The spares diagram is pretty awfull but it looks like just a fridge and freezer thermostat controls on the front ? ๐Ÿ˜•

    If that’s the case, 0 is the warmest and whatever the highest number is the coldest.

    Comet for the manual I’m afraid ๐Ÿ™

    You can also contact them through repairs@ now as I see where the slight error occured. We added gas oven as a new appliance type recently and for some reason their info didn’t get updated to include this ๐Ÿ˜•

    Re: Hoover CA232 Timer ??

    91201337 is the motorised selector, there is no timer as such on this model as the PCB controls everything.

    They do play up though (the selector).

    Freefind info is incorrect ๐Ÿ˜‰
