ParticipantRe: British Gas Homecare
Yeah, we did work on their behalf for about 18 months when they first started in the white goods repair insurance scheme.
Not one trained engineer ready to go on the road when they were selling policies, dropped a load of us in the sh1t with VERY angry customers who had been waiting weeks for a visit in many cases, no spares whatsoever to back them up, no payments unless calls were refused, 20+ calls faxed over all pre-booked on the same day even though we only gave them a capacity of 8 per day.
Things have probably improved since then as far as admin goes as we don’t hear a whisper about them here, but the morals still remain, poaching engineers from Independants, offering the carrot……
The bubble WILL burst, I can see the day looming, much the same as Comet’s service centres will implode on themselves.
DP, I understand the position you are in but…if they suddenly decide to wrap it and put the work through the independants again 😉

ParticipantRe: British Gas…time to tell all
Sounds about the ticket.
We did work for them for 18 months when they 1st started the caper of “total house care insurance” until they decided to pull the plug, even afterwards should their engineer ?? go on holiday they would fax over 15 calls all pre-booked at 5pm for the following day, faxed straight back.
I’ve heard nothing from them for months now, not even a complaint from their customers down here, probably nicked a good engineer from some poor bastard, possibly one of Alex’s
Centrica, and who was it started all this, repair and care…..ex NESN wasn’t it ?

Just the actual plastic button you need Mike ?
Not a problem, I’ll check it out in the morning when I’m back at the office.

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint FF92 Problems
See my previous reply 2 up 😀
Defrost problem which has caused ice build up restricting the air flow.
Pop up your postcode, there may be an engineer here who can help with a service visit for you.

How much postage are they charging you ?
The price of that filter (complete assembly), part number 693410068 is £17.40 ex VAT and delivery, which I make £23.95 inclusive.
I can order/supply if required, drop me an email to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk

ParticipantRe: Whirlpool 6th sense condenser dryer model no. AWZ 865
The genuine one is £17.70 inc VAT plus £3.50 postage which I can get (5 working days from Whirlpool).
The pattern one Martin mentions is 2mm longer but will probably do the trick I would think as this dryer has two tension pulleys on it.
That one is £5.95 inc VAT plus the £3.50 postage.
Let me know if you want to go for that one Andy, I can get it here by Monday (I don’t keep it in stock), so you would recieve Tuesday or Wednesday at the latest.

ParticipantRe: Diplomat ADP 8502 problem, please help!
Hold your finger on the start button for 20 seconds, that normally resets these.
This is a Whirlpool made dishwasher by the way 😉

ParticipantRe: Beko Dishwasher D3421F
They all look a lot like that.
Your choice, if you buy it and attempt to fit it it’s a lot of money wasted 😉
I would put the money towards a better dishwasher in all honesty.

spoonz wrote:dave, im a numpty 😀 , what you mean?
Basically to check if it’s open circuit.
spoonz wrote:replace and see if fixes?
If you don’t know what the above means, then yes, or call an engineer to check other possibilities.

ParticipantRe: Replacement glass for philips series 90 built in Oven
Yes, it should be AKG490…. they may still not recognise it as the model is obsolete and no longer listed by Whirlpool.
Give it a try though 😀

ParticipantRe: Gunkol oven grill element
It’s a Teba (Turkish manufacturer).
Part number 10110499 normal price from the appointed distributor is £26.70 plus £3.50 carriage but they have nil stock and an ETA in excess of 3 weeks.
I can get one from another supplier who are wanting a much higher price for it at £50.12 plus £3.50 carriage, they do have stock though.
I can order either for you if you like, drop me an email to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk.
Hope this helps.
Dave.
