    Re: Whirlpool ADP539AV Door springs!

You won’t need the springs Martin, they never break, I’m guessing the door drops heavily and the customer heard a “twang” ?

On the diagram, order these position numbers:

    0441
    0452
    0451
and possibly 0450 but they don’t break either normally.

Remove the outer door panel and the lower cover, tip the dishwasher backwards and it can all be done from there, you’ll also need to gain access to the back to pull the springs back on to their anchoring points (attach long cable tie to spring, reassemble door bits then pull from rear using said cable tie).

That should do the trick 😀

Perhaps call an engineer James to diagnose correctly for you ?

It may well save you some money and it will certainly save you a lot of time 😀

Yes, that’s the correct Smeg list price – £71.62 ex VAT and carriage.

As far as the timing is concerned, there’s not much info on this, normally you would expect the defrost frequency to be between 10 and 14 hours with a 30 minute defrost time.

    Hope this helps.

    Re: Hotpoint 8596 frost free

EE actually means a defrost time out error, which would indicate that the temperature rise at the freezer evaporator is not sufficient or as expected by the pcb.

Possibly a thermal fuse has failed stopping the heater(s) from working or, as suggested the thermistors are notoriously unreliable on these.

If you could check around the door for the model number I’ll check out whether the glass is still available for you 😀

Procorner is the Distriparts website for account holders.

If you phone them on 01325 302464 they should be able to order that way for you.

Re: Zanussi Frost Free Fridge Freezer Leaking Water From Fre

Almost certainly a defrost problem you have there Ben.

Frost free units periodically defrost themselves to remove any ice build up, yours evidently isn’t causing the ice flow you describe.

Not a DIY job to be honest, also generally not a major repair either.

If you pop your postcode up, someone here should be able to assist with a service visit.

    Hope this helps.

Re: Install carbon brushes to philco new world washing machi

Mel, there is no such thing as a New World Philco washing machine.

There is a Philco on it’s own or possibly a New World but I’ve never seen or heard of one.

We will also need the model number of the appliance to be able to help further.

Re: Washing Machine door handle advice

To be honest Pen we don’t often see them until they are broken so the model may well be discontinued by then.

As a rule though, the more you pay the better you’ll get, stick with a Bosch or a Miele and you won’t go far wrong.
