    Re: e-Jobs

I had a feeling this would come up TBH 😉

My view would be this, no weighting in favour of manufacturers agents, it should be open to all on a rotation basis with the only weighting being in favour of UKW subscribers.

Chris, no-one sees that form except us, the customers don’t.

I think in time each repairer will have a “proper” page a bit like the directory listings. No-one added to e-jobs will have their “what we can or don’t repair” shown to the customer, the database will just pick out the “next” person on the list who repairs x appliance.

I hope that makes sense 😕

The terminal block is not a problem at all, the seals may be though.

    You’re welcome.

Sorry we couldn’t give a “definite” for you but this is very often the case with appliance faults and diagnosis.

Please don’t be tempted by the “cheapest price” in the stores if you are thinking of replacing the freezer as you may well be faced with the same situation in two years time or sooner 😉

Re: Whirlpool Chest Freezer AFG 511/G

It’s one of two things then by the sounds of it, the click you hear is the compressor trying to start.

It will either be the starting device which is a relatively straightforward repair or the compressor itself has failed which would outweigh the cost of replacing the appliance.

If you need a definite diagnosis, pop your postcode up and someone here should be able to assist with a service visit.

Sparkey, I’ll have an invoice to you in the week 😉

Could you PM me with your company name and address you’d like it sent to please.

Appologies for the delay. We’ve been a little busy of late what with E-jobs and a couple of other projects which will reap benefits for us all 😀

Can you hear any noise at all from the compressor clairus, even if it’s momentarily ?

    Re: Press Release – e-Jobs

E-Jobs in now ready to go live !! 😀

A most welcome new addition to the site to start the new year and one which will benefit all of us.

All we need to do now is input the info the guys have given us that have already filled in the E-jobs application form in the downloads section here:

    http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/modules.p … load&cid=1

If you haven’t already filled one in, please do so if you’d like to recieve chargeable work from the many hundreds of public site visitors we recieve every day, many of them looking for a service engineer to do a repair for them.

We aim to have the service available to the public by the end of the week at the latest, we can all then pick up some chargeable work that maybe wouldn’t have come our way from the many “surfers” out there these days.

There is of course, no cost involved to you the repairer, you just get the call via email and deal directly with the customer charging your normal rate, all UKW is doing is passing the info from the customer to the relevent service engineer in that area.

The only other form to fill in is the members charter which is an agreement to fulfil some basic requirements to meet customer expectation, which to be honest is not at all difficult to achieve 😉

That form is here for download:

    http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/modules.p … load&cid=2

I also did a small post a few weeks ago explaining what E-Jobs is all about here:

    http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/modules.p … ight=ejobs

Any questions/queries/doubts ? Please ask away.

Happy new year to all UKW members 😀

The front glass will come off now Taffman. The bottom screws are all you need to remove 😉

The outer glass is just pushed under the lower part of the handle, as Kevin says, give a wiggle and it will pull down away and come off 😀

Re: £179 For A Zanussi Washer!

I can’t quite believe Electrolux for doing this 👿

I actaully sat in the same room (as did a few others here) last year with someone pretty high up within Electrolux who quite clearly stated that they were making a stand against this “price war” cr@p.

OK, he was in the service side of the industry and sales will have had the upper hand no doubt, but for fooks sake !!!!

And yes Kevin, I agree, someone in HM Gov should be looking in to this a little harder than they have I think. I know contact has been made from UKW on the matter last year, I don’t know what the outcome, if any there was 😕

Re: Ignis AKL393 oven door glass repair

Lift the outer glass from the bottom slightly and gently then slide it towards you, it’s just “slips” under the handle at the top I think.

I’m doing this from memory, is the handle fitted across the full width of the door and not screwed to the outer glass from inside ?
