Re: “Cookers” – supplied by Bernstein Group PLC –

If you let me know the model number and exactly which part it is you need I should be able to supply further info.

The five year parts guarantee only applies if you call Merloni to carry out the repair at around £80 a call ! 😯

I have found an Independant repairer who covers your area though, they are Green & Burton Services on 01454 414531, they are not a UK Whitegoods site member but if you choose to phone them, please mention where you got the number.

Yep, the only other suggestion is bring the element with you on Friday if you’ve removed it, let me have it, I’ll bring it back here on Monday and see if I can find a suitable match.

Martin wrote:I don’t see any “Motorised Distributor Unit” on the Heater Box

It looks as though it may be a non removable part of the heater chamber looking at the picture there’s a “lump” on the bottom of it which you wouldn’t normally expect to see on this type.

I have the slimline version of this, they do alternate between the upper and lower spray arms during normal wash programmes, mine does anyway.

Take the heater box away and stick 240V across the motor on a workbench maybe ?

That’s one of the Bocuse range cookers, the real one ! Not the pap they are producing now.

Chris, I’ll need the production number (3????????) from inside the right hand warming drawer as well please. Also which grill element is it, left or right hand cavity ?

I can get easily enough for you from GIAS.

Rather than quote everyone individually 😉

Martin: The “contractors contract” was an idea I was trying to put in place and was discussed at Sibson, lack of interest and funds at the time, the idea was dropped for the time being.

Bonzaco: Your directory listing has no email contact on it, hence the reason you didn’t get one, PM me with the one you’d like to use and I’ll add it for you.

    Re: Merloni

Yep, I got the same response as Kevin, “An are manager will contact you”.

In the first instance I asked where he got the email address from as I only gave the one he sent it to WP’s I already work for and used it on UKW.

He did respond telling me he got it from the site, which says a lot if Merloni make this work with info they got from us 😉

Yep, the labour, they will be looking at paying me £36-£38 a call for electric and £40-£42 for gas.

All I hope is that those that are out there who will work for next to nothing just to fill a days work see sense.

If there was time, this would be better off as part of Saturday’s agenda IMO if anything of this kind was to be done via UKW, sadly there won’t be time.

We can of course discuss it here though 😀

kheath wrote:Anyone know how to politely say all of this to the customer who phones to say ” you left your rubbish…..

There is no easy way to explain that one to most customers as you say Kevin.

We get it in the shop as well, people try and leave all their old cr*p behind which they bring along to identify what they want.

One way I do try and explain to those householders with recyclable waste bins is that if we remove the parts/boxes etc they go to landfill sites, if the customer puts the recylable part(s) out with their own waste it will be recycled.

It usualy convinces the “greener” customer to not put up an argument 😉

    Re: Hotpoint Advertise Franchises!

OK, there’s been a lot of discussion topics in the forums about directory listings, the most recent is here:

    http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/modules.p … pic&t=1214

The multiple emails are because for each “term” in the directory we have to list the company individually, so for instance if say I cover EX and TQ postcodes, I will have two listings, one under each postcode “term”.

May I just mention, we have been on about getting names forward for the directories for months, now you see why 😉

    Re: Ranco freezer thermostat

It should be OK, as the K54 part denotes the switching temperature, the rest is to do with the length of the capillary.

Out of interest, how much is “very resonable” ?

I would have to say that Connect are basing their price on the Smeg retail price then and whacking a massive mark up on top then.
