    Re: Hotpoint Spray Arm

    Hi Mark.

It doesn’t clip to the back of the dishwasher, the upper spray arm fits to the underside of the upper basket.

When the basket is pushed in and the door closed it pushes up against the water outlet at the rear.

    Hope that helps.

Nothing obvious, this is just the fairly standard Smeg integrated dishwasher.

I’ve sent you a pdf file that may be useful 😉

It’s Ok Paul, only trade can see the this forum, the public forums however are a different ball game, where we have to be very carefull what advice we give.

Dunno, probably some import sh*te the developer bought for next to nothing on a “good deal” 😉

streetlighter wrote:The problem is when I was made redundant 7 years ago there was and still is 2 other guys covering the same villages as myself, they both give free estimates

On that, may I make a suggestion.

If there are three of you covering the same patch, then it is fair to say there is probably enough work there for all three of you. Why not try and talk to the other two guys and sort something out regards free estimates etc. I bet they don’t like it any more than you do 😉

Please don’t think I am talking about price fixing, but why can’t you all make a decent living and agree on certain areas that you will cover. We all know, as you have discovered that operating a tight area is far more profitable than running around all over the place.

With the risk of repeating sentiments all over the site in various places, can anyone name any other service industry that carries out free estimates, house visits and quotes etc ?

When I say service I mean service, not the building trade which already has massive profits built in to allow such practice. Whereas ours is a very low profit industry, mainly fuelled by the the “sheds” and the manufacturers pushing product prices down.

Your original conclusion of a poorly wired socket is almost certainly to blame.

The live terminal screw probably wasn’t tightened enough, I’ve seen it many times. Electricians wiring in a whole load of sockets, spurs and outlets while under pressure to get the job done quick, recipe for disaster.

    Hi.

I can order and supply those for you, I will need the product code as well though please.

Inside the freezer itself there will be a label with a bar code on it, around that will be two long (12 numerics) numbers.

If you could post those it would be helpful.

    Regards

Well they certainly aren’t Ariston clones anyway 😀

The drum and motor is identical to the WMA’s. The only difference apart from the cosmetics is the power pcb is now at the bottom of the machine, lower left looking from the back.

So the module is now placed where the Ariston/Indesit’s one’s are, susceptable to “brown water splash” when the bearings fail, good move 😕

    Re: Spare part

Hi, are you sure that is a Homark and the model is correct ?

Normally Homark models are in the format 01-?????? or 02-??????

If you find the rating plate (which may mean removing the whole oven from it’s housing), the details should be on there.

kwatt wrote:I’ve (personally) never done free estimates and I never will.

We used to, but i saw the light about 5 years ago, mainly for the reasons above, topped with the fact that we sell spares to the public and were finding they were using us as a diagnostic tool then cheekily coming in here and buying the spares themselves.

I’ve never looked back since 😉

TBH the type of customer who tries to get you to undercut others and get something done for nothing are the type of customers I can well do without, they are generally more trouble than they are worth.

If they’re not willing to pay to have the job done properly and a correct diagnosis made and more often than not a first time fix (carrying spares costs money), then, sorry I am not interested in your custom.

Sounds a little harsh, but hey, years of knowledge, carrying large spares stocks etc, it’s worth a lot more than a free estimate.

    Re: ZAN WJS1397

    Pressure switch maybe ?

I think on these that the 1st or 2nd level on the switch triggers the motor action and circulation pump, the water then continues to fill untill either the 3rd level is reached or the other smaller pressure switch turns the water off.

Or it could be the other way round, I can’t remeber exactly which order the levels are switched, but worth a look at I would think.

    Connections (Electrue)

If you don’t have an account with them, don’t bother though, they are a special order.

    Two options:

I can order them for you, but no idea how long they’ll take.

Phone Teka themselves, the part number for the brown knob is 3030278, contact details:

    Teka UK
    Teka House, 177 Milton park
    Milton, Abingdon, OX14 4SE, U.K.

    Re: TKI Ovens

    It’s a Teka.

    Do you have Connections ?

If you do, Mediator, Teka, Ovens, right at the bottom, listed as TKI – TH1001.

It looks as if both knobs are the same, only the colour is different (brown or white).
