ParticipantRe: Corgi Gasman cometh!
Martin, has your brother reported the 1st guy to Corgi ?
He should really have used a test probe to check for non-combustable escapes and CO etc.
Black marks around a gas appliance are purely a visual indication that there could a problem.
It’s a bit like telling a customer they have a leeky pump without taking the back off and having a look, but not quite as expensive as a boiler mis-diagnosis.

My personal preference would be Bosch in that range, have a look at the link below for the models available.

You can use the private message function as well, hit the PM button at the foot of the message box.

Hi Sharon,
What size freezer are you looking to buy and what sort of price range are you looking at ?
As a general rule, the more you pay the better you will get, not always true, but pretty much the case.

ParticipantRe: Use Of Funds
Yes, I agree totally.
At the end of the day the guy is running a business and his support is excellent, lets not forget that UKW and the mailing list have been hosted for free for a very long time due to Ken’s friendship with Li.
I know from asking Li to host my new site the service offered by him and his staff is unrivalled.
Untill such time comes that we can use our own server, which is unlikely in the near future, it is only proper that we should pay for the hosting as UKW now generates some funding.

ParticipantRe: Indesit W161 lamp flash codes
Martin,
Unfortunately Merloni Elettrodomestici, who own Indesit among others will not release that information to anyone except their own employed engineers and agents.
I know some of the guys on here do have some of that information though, so if you could post up the exact fault code(s) displayed it may be that someone will know what it means.
Ultimately though, even the codes do appear to be somewhat inaccurate so a proper diagnosis is normally required, i.e. checking all the components and not relying on the displayed code.
Interesting point about the BIOS beep codes being in the public domain though 😉

Hi,
I’ll check this out on Monday for you. As it’s a Blomberg it will have been a Comet exclusive, but I’m hoping it’s made by one of the “known” manufacurers.

It’s almost certainly the module, part number has been superseded to 4812 214 58074 @ 72.26 ex vat from Whirlpool.
I can order it for you from them if you want and send it with the armatures, w/pool normally 4-5 working days from order date.

Do you think so ? Personally I find it horrendous, even on broadband it takes an age to load, if you want to see a picture it doesn’t open a new window so you have to use the back button to return to the section (takes ages to load again 🙄 ), no indication of stock levels, and it’s written using Actinic Catalogue software which IMO has the worst shopping cart known to man.
martin wrote:Their 1603071 armatures are still in stock at £25.04
See my post in the “obsolete” thread, cheaper from SEME 😉

When I first saw the title of this post I thought the user R600A had been a naughty boy 😉
Can this story be verified officially 😆
Joestrummer, do you have a website or similar this story came from, it really should be front page news I think, it’s a rather important announcement considering the date
