    Re: reset one shot toc

there is a huge difference between shorting out a toc and reseting it, the toc will trip exactly as a new one would, i repeat the most common cause is customer turning off b4 cooling down sequence, (educate customer ) and obviously the engineer would test for other causes of overheating and rectify , my intention was to help, i wish i had never started this subject

    Re: reset one shot toc

iv never heard of a late type hotpoint dryer setting on fire for one thing the cabinet is all metal and the drum is also not like the old plastic drum models as i said before the usual cause of toc tripping is customer turning off without allowing cool down or overloading / not cleaning filters

    Re: reset one shot toc

its a bi metalic disc how can it be out of calibration ? also the toc that trips is always the left hand one usually because the customer has either opened the door b4 the cool down period or not cleaned the filters etc, or the motor action has failed due to a faulty capacitor etc. the advantage being you dont have to replace the toc with a new set again in a call back situation or a rental situation

    Re: a bit of advice

hi i closed my shop over 5 years ago and just worked from home, i have a reasonable income from rentals and i sell new and recon machines ( off the van) plus do selective repairs, any work i dont want i pass on to other engineers, also the rental side seems to be expanding, if you close your shop i would recommend you pay for an advert on the old premises to let your customers know how to find you, i relied on the new owners to leave a sign up but they took it down after a few months, all told though its worked out quite well, i us call divert on the phone for when we are both out, and one of the engineers i pass work on to will cover when i am on holiday , hope this has helped your descision

    Re: Shop Signs ?

just a thought if you wanted to make your own you can get a custom made vynl type one on the internet i got one for my van both sides and rear for about £140-00 inc vat it came with instructions, dead easy to apply i dont see why you couldnt get them to make you one to stick on a board , unfortunately i cant remember the name of the company but if you seach the internet im sure you will find a cheap supplyer , they even sent me a picture of my type of van with the finished lettering on for approval
