ParticipantRe: ISE10 is an ASKO W6252 ???
Hi
We make no secret of the fact that the ISE 10 is made in Sweden by Asko.
Asko like many other producers make for many brands for many people.
For example Bosch, Whirlpool and White Knight tumble dryers are all made by the same people in Halifax, we would rather have Asko make ours.Maytag and ourselves sell Askos in the UK through different channels to market and with different business models.
I can not speak for Maytag but ISE’s philosophy is to match high product quality with an equivalently high level of service.
Therefore we chose to guarantee the ISE10 for 10 years via Axa, we only sell through repairers who can give a high level of back up to the customers they supply and we do not make money on spare parts thus making out of guarantee repairs economic and extending product lifespan.
We believe this all inclusive package makes the ISE 10 at £799 inc V.A.T. great value for money. It is then up to the customer what they purchase and who they purchase from.
I hope this clarification is helpful.

ParticipantHi Jim
That is on our agenda for the ISE 5 upgrade we are planning in the spring. We are going to try to minimise the wash times but the unfortunate fact is high energy efficiency means slow wash cycles.
We’ll keep you posted.

ParticipantSpot on Chris,
Astetics are something we can get more into are primary focus has to be solid reliable machines.
But we move on, who knows what can be done with the 5 on that front next year.

ParticipantRe: ISE10…
It’s a while since I updated you on the ISE 10 Saga. Here goes.
The ISE 10 1600s which should have been in at the start of November to tied us over until the start of January when our long awaited container arrives, are silver and have been reject by myself. I can get access to them if you have a despirate need.
We were verbally offered £75 off the 1400 spin machines to keep them (an advance on £30), which I accepted with the intention of offering you guys £100 inc V.A.T to sell them through.
I then got the written confirmation what they had actually offered was £63 and request for imediate payment. I told them to take them back. If you want to take any assume a £75 discount off trade I said I’ll pay for what we sell and let them fetch what’s left, though I suspect there is a bit more negociatation before we get to that.
THE GOOD NEWS – We will have stock early January. We have indepentant verification from Asko (I don’t belief a word the UK agent tell me) that our slot has been confirmed for December 13th, ETA to follow.
Sorry for all the messing you about, I can assure you I have done my best through all of this but there is more to this than incompentance on behalf of the UK agent.
When we get final resolution I will distribute the e-mails to all people who have ordered / sold / are waiting for ISE 10s it will stagger your belief.
If anyone else made machines of as high quality as Asko I would have abandonded this long ago, but the product it brilliant so I have to waltz to get the solution which is best for us all.
You patients are appreciated.

ParticipantHi
I think I can shed some light on this.
I was at DACs in Beckenman yesterday and they said a similar thing to me about the ISE 5.
It is a classic perception being different to reality. You only remember the faults not the sales particlarly if you speak to one of the engineers (who I assume Lewis is, rather than the owner Paul).
When we went through it they have installed more than twenty machines and had problems with three; though one they went back to a number of times before we worked out the carcase had been twisted by clamping in the warehouse and we exchanged it.
Of the other two one was a customer error (locking out a board), and the other was a genuine componant failure.
We know their failure rate is way higher than the national average for the ISE 5 (which is 4.8{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d}). However all DACs see are the machines they sell, unlike us they don’t talk the agents who have sold more than them and had no faults at all. Therefore, I can understand why they perceive the machine to be less reliable than the reality and why you decided to plump for a Meille.
DACS are a good company and it is right they express their opinions freely even if we may disagree with them. Perception is reality and their opinion is swayed by their experience.
I am sure that over time their opionion of the ISE 5 will change. They continue to stock and sell ISE 5 and are like many other keen to get their ISE 10s which I am assured will be with us (with the corrcet spec) by the 2nd November.

ParticipantRe: New products
After a fortnight of arguing, threatening and ultimately brinkmanship we will get some ISE 10 1600 AAA machines by the 2nd November in time for our adverts which run in New Consumer and the Ecologist during November and December (I will post them when we get the final copy).
The 33 machines we have sold to date will be charged to you at £480 (the £100 discount) as promised the cost of this will be born by the UK agent Maytag UK. The balance of wrong stock 61 machines they have offered me £30 off to keep them, I have told them to get stuffed (words to that effect) and am holding the stock as a bargaining chip at the moment.
Therefore I will inform you when the correct ISE 10s are available. However unless they change their position I can only offer £30 off the AAB machines. This may change when the day they have to send a wagon and pay my loading off loading, storage charges and de-badge them.
I hope that update helps, thanks for your patience

ParticipantHi Guys,
Sorry I am late on this thread.
We only get a propper ISE 2 to Ken for photography this week ourselves (we had to wait for them to come into Hi-way on Thursday). And we are now expecting the correct ISE 10s on 2nd November (I’ll do another post on that saga under that thread), but we have point of sale card leave behinds ready to go with those to as soon as we have one to photograph.
We have leaflets for ISE 2 ready to go to print as soon as Ken has photgraphed them in Hi-Definition.
They should be with you in about 2 weeks though we have done a PDF file which I’ll send to you both now.
Thanks for your patients, see you soon

ParticipantHi All
As you may be aware, the ISE 10’s which were delivered last week are a lower spec than we ordered (1400 instead of 1600 spin).
I have asked for £150 per machine compensation to encourage people who have ordered to keep the machines, I recon I should get £70 to £100, which we can use to compensate customers or swap out machines when the correct model comes in (hopefully at the end of the month).
This will leave 60 or so 1400 spin ISE 10 Machines in our warehouse available at a discounted price if you wish to keep selling them. They still carry the 10 yr or 3 yr guarantee.
While this whole scenario has been a nightmare, I have been told off the record that Maytag who have the Asko agency in the UK are deliberately making life difficult for us to avoid having their poor sales performance been highlighted by ourselves. It is in their interest to maintain the exclusive rights to Asko’s (to avoid a competitor getting it) but their whirlpool paymasters do not what to sell Asko machines.
Whether this is true or problems are due to good old fasioned incompentence by our supplier it does not alter the inconvenience caused to you for which I can only appologise.
Your patients and continued support is greatly appreciated, who knows in the medium this all may turn out to be a blessing in disguise.

ParticipantHi All,
We have been delivered the wrong machine by Asko’s UK agent. There is a lot of finger pointing going on between the Factory and agent. Who’s fault it was is irrelevant to us, have proved what we ordered and they are working to put things right for us as a matter of urgency.
We will get the correct stock we hope by the end of the month.
There will be compensation for customers who have received lower specification machines than they ordered.
I will speak to all the affected agents individually on to sort out their own customers needs.
A big thank you to Martin for drawing our attention to this immediately before more people were affected.

ParticipantHi Martin,
Before I responded I have been checking my documentation on ISE 10 and can confirm;
1. On April 16th 2007 I ordered 1600 spin AAA rated machines
2. In May 2007 we made a 30k downpayment to secure said order. If we have been delivered 1400 spin machines this is wrong and requires action and compensation for the people who have bought one.
Before I go off on one with the supplier we need to establish if it is the machine or user manual that is wrong.
In July we received the proofs for the manuals and they stated 1400 spin. We specifically queried this to ensure the factory were making the right machines. We were assured that the mauals were wrong and the machines were AAA.
This may well just be the manual,
I will post again when the picture is clearer.

ParticipantHi All
I have not updated for a while as we have been working on things which we did not wish to disclose in public until the deals have been done.
ISE 10 washer and tumble dryers made by Asko are now available carry a ten year parts and labour guarantee in domestic settings plus three year guarantee for light commercial usage hair dressers etc.
On Friday we unveiled the ISE 2, a two year guaranteed, AAB rated, value machine. This is designed to compete at the cheaper end of the market, but has all the same ISE principles; if you can not fix it you can’t sell it, you service what you sell and we don’t mark up the parts making out a guarantee repairs economic.
If you want more details on either of these machines, please contact us.
