    Hi Alex

It seems they only come with the standard one year.

    Admiral wrote:

perfect condition and working order. In the extremely unlikely

    One-year parts and labour warranty.

I managed to find that info here down towards te bottom.

From my reckoning the Chester was discontinued late 2007 but it`s possible that someone could have had one in stock, so it could be under warranty or it could be covered by an extended warranty. If the latter is the case then you would need to contact the insurers in the first instance.

    Hi

Bosch like a lot of manufacturers out there nowadays do produce in other countries, but the products are made in their own factories so everything is controlled in the same way it would be in their native country. I have not had any Bosch refrigeration build issues at all in the last few years. The only range of theirs I don`t really like is the WAA range of washing machines as they are a little too cheap.

We were almost seduced by a £500 Samsung American style in Currys (think it was end of line display model) until we realised it was too deep and then I did some research on Samsung for spares and reliability. So I take your point regarding spending £1500 on a single machine.

Research, research and more research 😆 pays off in the end 😉 This article on what`s in a name is an eye opener.

    Re: Replacement fridge and freezer

    Hi freezepop

I would rather spend £1000 on two seperate machines than an American side by side for the same price. To get the same sort of quality and 2 year warranty you would probably need to be around the £1500 mark for a Maytag or an admiral machine. You can achieve the “American” look by reversing the door hinge on one of the units if you so wish, and in the silver they will look good as well.

It seems to imply that if you are not ducting they are basically useless. Does this mean that they will not remove ANY steam or odours? 😕

Ducted is certainly much more effective in disposing of steam and odours, however if recirculated and it has a good extraction rate then it should do a reasonable job in keeping your kitchen clear.

    Re: Cooker Hoods and appliances

    Hi

This article on cooker hoods may help a little. I personally don`t know anything about Fagor but I`m sure someone else will chip in. Neff Cooker hoods are probably about the best without going mad on price, they are well constructed and come with a two year warranty. Also this article on manufacturers names may also help in giving you a well balanced and informative start.

    Happy reading 🙂
