I’ll consider both pricepoints. £300 and £400 ……..
Bear in mind that the industry has just seen some of the biggest price increases in memory due to the falling pound against the Euro and the Dollar. What was circa £250 is now nearer £300 so the top pricepoint is where you are going to get the quality appliance. TheISE5 DW1 12 place AAA rated dishwasher loaded with features and a full five-year warranty is a cracking machine and well worth the budget.Don

Hi lenx
You could try the “find and engineer” link in your post, just pop in your postcode etc for your nearest engineer.

ModeratorRe: Washing machine but which one of these should I buy
Hi
That Bosch is miles better than either of the other two in terms of build, ie ease of use and the guarantee is twice as long ie two years. If you can go the extra then get the WAE24363GB if there are any left as the model now supercedes to the WAE24364GB.

It’s a pitty that you’ve been burnt by the overpriced (IMHO) Smeg stuff. For some reason they have a rep. for quality.
Just avoid Merloni stuff and Chinese stuff is my opinion if you have to buy a cheap one.
Zanussi or Whirlpool are OK, unless Don has any objections?
No objections at all GB, I couldn`t have put it better myself 😉 .Don

Our last Indesit FF lasted my parents 27 years without any problems, when it went, it just stopped working altogether. But 27 years, thats what I want…Those were the good old days, fast forward wind to 2009 and the Indesit range is now a budget one, you will not get that sort of life span I`m afraid. The nearest would be the Liebherr or the Miele 😉 which should give you a good ten years if not longer.

Hi Jas
Three to consider in that price range,my order of preferance taking into consideration the build quality, flexibility of the interior and aftercare would be the Liebherr CUP2721 then the Bosch KGH39V03 and lastly the Electroulux ENB32000 all the brands have nationwide service should it be required.

Hi Dave
GHD seem to guard their service like Miele ie wanting it all for themselves :rolls: . The GHD website does seem to back this up. However every morning on my way in I pass this small shop
Clarke’s Electrical,44 Cowick Street, Exeter,EX4 1AP 01392498855 he is advertising GHD repairs all over his window and with an illuminated sign too. May be worth a call.Don

Hi Edd
As far as a possible replacement is concerned, the information I have available is a little sparse. Can you let me know the height and width of the appliance please? Does it have a solid kitchen door or a thin 3mm panel slid in around a frame? Does the existing machine slot into a housing at waist height?

Just an update
Connect up machine and hey presto it works. Upon questioning customer further, it transpires that they have just had a new kitchen installed and the fitters in their wisdom had only connected it up to the cold water supply and capped off the hot one.
Kitchen fitters don`t you just love em 👿
