How do I find out what’s wrong? Is it repairable? Do you recommend engineers who can help (We’re in Coventry)?
Thanks

ModeratorYour model number indicates it’s a 60cm freestanding cooker!!
By the serial number it’s 2015 produced week 05
As far as the damage is concerned make a claim against your contents policy. Hob glass comes with the frame and costs over £200 🙁

ModeratorOne year guarantees have been the norm since the late sixties ( when I came into this industry), it was only when we joined the EU that the european manufacturers have given a two year warranty which some UK names then followed.
The five and ten year ones which are usually found on Miele appliances are purely promotional ones which they hope will sell more units thus increasing market share.
The only AEG freestanding washer dryer on John Lewis is their flagship model L8WEC166R at just over a grand with a five year warranty all the rest are two years. So just like Miele a promo guarantee. Like all promo guarantees it has to be underwritten by an insurer at a cost which is no doubt built into the price of the appliance.

ModeratorI could lean towards the AEG or it’s sister Zanussi 🙂
Have heard good reports recently that Beko is to be considered as well.
These aside and the Miele there is not a lot else out there. Can you not get a seperate dryer and washer in?

ModeratorIn that case it isn’t Whirlpool made.
I can’t find anything for it on the usual sites I’m afraid, you could try them direct 0344 576 6841 and choose option 2. Bear in mind with Covid lockdowns Manufacturers are not working with full staff so wait time may be longer.

ModeratorIf it is a Whirlpool made produst take a look for two barcodes behind the salad bin, it should start 8503…….

Already in operation albeit we have double labelling until the 1st April. On average the A+++ washing machines will now be D rated. This will allow for new technology to improve the ratings.

Yes I agree they are a painn in the wotsits at times however it’s a very lucrative sector for us. They account for nearly 40{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of our sales and repair business.

ModeratorThere are 11 versions of your fridge freezer. We will need the full model number, serial number and any other number from the label. Better still take a photo of the label host it on a third party site like Google pics and post the link.
