    Thanks for that Dave

Must remember to give no.1 son a slap later lol, he`s the one who prepares the new machine while I uninstall the old one.

Installed an ISE10 on Tuesday which had no plastic covers to fit after removing the bolts. Just a one off or are they no longer supplied ❓

Re: New fridge freezer – Siemens KA58NA40GB?

    Hi

Out of the machines you list I would personally leave the Samsung and the LG alone as the other brands are far superior in build, reliability and service back up.

As for the rest on your shopping list, it all depends on whether or not side by side is for you. If it is then the Maytag would be my choice, in the non American then it has to be the Siemens KG49N especially with it`s 5 year warranty.

There are a couple of articles which may help may up your mind from our advice and help section.

No worries greenstick, even some of us trade guys get confused at times must be our age ( well some of us anyway 😆 )

Yep the Neff is a washer only and yes it would still be my no 1 recommendation.

    Hi Dave

An email to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk may help. Can you double check the model number as I think there maybe some letters missing 😉

    Hi Greenstick

Thanks for the compliment at least we know we are doing something right 🙂

The post you linked to was for a built in washer dryer which is a slightly different product area to freestanding. There is a good read here on washer dryers in our advice section.

Obviously not everyone can afford the Miele, however I have sold quite a few of the Bosch WVD24520 which seems to be about the best out there at the moment. Like all Bosch appliances it has a full two year warranty which is backed up by nationwide service.

gnatschuffed wrote:I’m a little confused regarding selecting new appliances for my new kitchen and was directed to this site. The kitchen will be installed in 6 weeks or so and the suppliers originally spec’d Hotpoint appliances. I figured I could get a better deal and better appliances online. I have a Bosch fridge which I’ve had for years so figured I would start there. I see AEG/Bosch and Neff are considered to be one and the same.

While you will probably get a better price online you will not get the advice, service or aftercare that you would from an independant retailer IMO. Bosch and Neff are indeed from the same stable, AEG are from the Electrolux group, I prefer the Neff products for better value and spec compared to the other two 😉 .

I quite fancy an induction hob and have found a De Dietrich DTI714V (with free pan set) for significantly lower than Neff and Bosch. Are De Dietrich a viable alternative to AEG/Bosch/Neff?

Personally I would rather have the Neff.

Can you have an induction hob above a single oven? I will be going for the same manufacturer for both. Its just that I have read that induction hobs require a fair bit of space underneath for cooling and fitting above an oven is a no go. Please can someone confirm if this is indeed true or if it only applies to double ovens?

You can install an induction hob over a single oven, just make sure there is sufficient ventilation at the rear of the carcass for good airflow to the fans on the hob.

I also like the look of John Lewis applicances (Electrolux/Zanussi, right?). Are they any good? Their 3 year guarantee is an obvious plus but how likely am I to need it and if I do, is their support any good?

The John Lewis products are good value for money especially with the three year warranty. Afterall no one is going to give that sort of warranty if the products are unreliable.

    gnatschuffed wrote:
While I’m at it, why are built in fridges so more expensive than their freestanding counterparts and will I loose a lot of capacity?

I often think that the manufacturers adopt the attitude that if you want the built in look then you have to pay for it 😕

    Google the Bosch WAE24363 😉

micky2008 wrote:forget about the above….based on reviews and feedback it looks like its worth going for a bosch, esp as they have 2 years warranty.
    So its either:

    WAE24363GB for £290 inc del

    or

    WAE2416S for £281 inc del

SO which one should I get?

the only real differences are that one has a digital display which shows the remaining time, the other is able to do a half load.

    anm i right?

    Hi micky

The WAE2416S has no digital display and comes in the silver finish while the WAE24363 has the delay timer and comes in white. Both machines have the acoustic and LED indication at the end of the cycle. Either way they are good solid machine which will give you good service.

That`s the best you are ging to get to be fair as there is not a lot now made in that width. Bosch is good stuff and has the added bonus of a two year full warranty backed up by nationwide service.

Bosch WAE machines are better quality than their WAA counterparts. A good way of telling which is which by the door handle, the WAE machines are half moon shaped.

However the WAA series also come with a two year warranty, so it`s still a good buy.

    Re: New tumble dryer

    Hi Ant

Good article here in our advice and help section, well worth a read before you take the plunge and spend your well earned cash.

Drying time depends on the spin speed and water extraction of your washing machine. Zanussi don`t quote the noise level in the spec, so I can`t answer that one I`m afraid.

If you can go the extra mile get one of these ISE 10 Condenser tumble dryer 6KG load C rated with a full ten-year warranty worth every penny.
