ModeratorRe: life span of Siemens appliances
Hi kay
Siemens are a good make but at seven years old I would say £400 maximum. As long as they are in good condition and appear to have been well cared for then they should give you a few more good years service.

ModeratorRe: Miele 5 year cover
Hi Del
It is a limited offer, purchase say for example a W500 washing machine between the 1st June and August 31st complete the claim form which is given to the customer at point of sale and recieve a free five year guarantee. The inducement to the customer is to buy now, as after the end date of the promotion the warranty reverts back to normal two years.
Miele have extended this guarantee to their entry level machines, to match what they are giving on the middle range of appliances. While the premium end recieves a ten year warranty. All of these offers end on the 31st August. It is just a good old marketing tool to increase sales of appliances during the summer. Some manufacturers will try and achieve this by reducing prices. Miele have chosen to extend warranties instead.

Hi Huw
Neff are one of the few manufacturers who give a two year warranty parts and labour as standard. Another good reason to buy 😀

ModeratorRe: Bosch Prices
Hi Goatboy
There was a price increase of about 2{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} in January to take into account the increase in raw materials. Looks like this time prices have gone up by about 3{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} I will ask the rep next time I speak to him . Just being curious where do you source yours machines from?

Hi Chris
I would go for the “Henry” everytime. A lot of tradesmen like chippies and sparkies use and abuse them and they still perform just as well. It is a very simple robust machine that has been very successful and has not changed for many years, We still sell more of these than any other cylinder cleaner. It comes with full range of accessories, stainless steel tubes and a choice of colours. For wet pick up though you would need the “Charles” which is slightly taller than the Henry.

ModeratorRe: Integrated Kitchen Appliances – Help!
Hi Nadine
Personally I would stick with either Ignis which is the budget range made by Whirlpool, or If you can go that little bit higher on price, look at Whirlpool products which are built to a higher spec with enhanced features. If you are thinking about stainless steel finish, Whirlpool is better too.
Electric ovens do give much better even heat these days due to the fan circulating the air around the oven cavity. Also manufacturers can give these appliances more customer functions than ever before . However if it is gas you are after then Electrolux and Stoves are probably the best ones around.
Your`e friendly local independant retailer should be able to help with the best advice and service.
