    Re: Narrow machine required

    Hi Timbo

The only machines available which are narrower than the standard 60cm widths are the slimline top loaders which are only 45cm wide. Machines you could consider are the Bosch WOP24074GB, Hotpoint WT400 and the Whirlpool AWT5108. Have a look at these in the flesh to make sure mum can manage the drum opening mechanism as some can be a little tricky. The Whirlpool has the “soft touch” opening. If this is not an issue then I would go with the Bosch everytime especially as it comes with a full two year guarantee.

    Hope this helps.

Re: Question about AEG S70388 freezer drawers

This is a top of the range appliance which should give you many years good service. Bear in mind the number of times you would visit the freezer in your`e home probably no more than once a day I would suspect so wear and tear would be minimal . We don`t know how long the retailer has had the appliance in stock nor the number of times the drawers have been pushed in and out.

Another option would be the AEG S75388KG 8.7 cu ft fridge and 4.9cu ft freezer which is frost free and would not have the freezer bars between the baskets therefore no scuffing, however the price does rise sharply 😉 .

There is a piccy of its head and shoulders in this weeks ERT magazine.
Spec is imposing too. Seven metres high, human figure built from three tonnes of junk which represents the total amount of electronic waste that an average person in the UK is likely to consume in their lifetime.
I wonder how long it will be before someone has a piccy of it here as their avatar. Penguins, Goats, Cows and now weeman whatever next 🙄

Try the Bosch WTL6106GB condenser or as Martin suggests in the vented range the WTA4007. They also benefit from a two year parts and labour guarantee as well 😀 .
Your`e local friendly retailer will be able to help.

Re: Want to buy a washer/dryer

Not only will a local retailer give you excellent advice on products but also offer a delivery and installation service which is second to none. A lot of the etailers tend to give only a day at best for delivery as they are not in control of delivery services. Then just suppose machine arrives damaged it is easier to contact local dealer who will sort immediately rather than the manufacturers loads of options and hang on for half an hour listening to music. After sales service you have a small query a couple of days into use, your`e local dealer is just a phone call away and is able to offer you expert advice, better than calling the manufacturers service engineer in and possibly having to pay.

Granted you will pay a higher price but you get a lot of security for your`e well earned pounds 😀 .

Shop locally you know it makes sense 😉

Re: Want to buy a washer/dryer

Chris I would still go for the Bosch in the price range you have been quoting. As for washer dryers in general it is always best to have a sepereate washer machine and tumble dryer. I guess space is an issue in the flat so perhaps a compact dryer could be an option which measure only 670 high 490 wide and 480 deep so even a small cupboard would store it.

As for price well as the old saying goes you get what you pay for still applies.

Yes right assumptions if you can find a canny deal then Miele would be top of my wish list certainly and then Siemens.

Try your`e local retailer who will give the best advice and service.

Good luck with the move hope it all goes well.

Bit confusing really depends on the model purchased can be two, five or ten. Built in still comes with the usual two.
