    There is no defrost timer.
All functions are run by the main pcb which is where the problem will lie.

Diagonally opposite terminals will be ok.

Re: Whirlpool S20BRSS31-A/G American Fridge Freezer Tripping

    Check list

    Compressor running.
    Cooling fan running.
    Circulation fan running.
Take off lower grill and hoover out fluff.

    Still not cold?
Look at the evaporator which should be frosted for most of its length.
If not then you have a system fault which is not a DIY repair.

The temperature display will not show any numbers and you can’t change the settings until the freezer gets down to -18c.
Give it a couple of hours to settle down.

I just have a basic multimeter 🙁 what would be the purpose of checking before i put it back in?

Basically so that you know it’s safe and will work.

If you don’t have or know how to use test equipment then I would advise that you get professional help.

To be absolutely safe you could remove the element and bake in a low oven for a few hours.
You will need at least a 500v insulation tester to check it before you put it back.
Should read at least 2 megohms.

Or just put a new one in

Re: Whirlpool S20BRSS31-A/G American Fridge Freezer Tripping

Compressor will not run with defrost element disconnected.
If the fridge has been turned off for any length of time it is possible that moisture has got into the element which is causing the rcd to trip.

Display pcb is the most likely culprit.

They are giving them away though.

Two weeks ago I did the keyboard stuff for a customer who is not internet savvy and she got a Beko DWD5414W dishwasher for £169 and a WMB714422 washer for £189.
Next day delivery was an extra £9.99.
If the euro continues to fall they will get cheaper still.

    We’re all doomed!
