    Re: The Great British Media

    Here’s a quote from The Mail’s blog.

I was buying a washing machine in curries a couple of years ago… we get to the bottom line and the sales bloke starts on about the one year warranty and the five year warranty you can take out [for money of course] in a very loud voice i insisted they cancel the sale immediately and that i needed to see the manager when they said they couldnt… by this time there were a lot of people just cruising about in the aisles near by.. when the manager arrived and asked what he could do i said in a loud voice’ this sales advisor has just sold me a washing machine thats obviously got a design fault of some sort as he advised me to take out an insurance policy ‘incase it breaks down in the next 5 years. If this model is likely to break down in the next five years i want a different one!’ . you could hear the giggles from the shelves behind me… i love playing vic meldrew. Oh he gave me a discount on the one i had bought in the shape of vouchers and i put them towards my kindle..

    Heaven help us all!

There is a diagnostic on later models.
I don’t have the numbers with me at the moment but it is accessed like this.
    Switch on at mains.
Open freezer door and press light switch 3 times within 10 seconds.
Freezer display will count down from 07 to 00.
I can’t remember the rest but if you don’t get a display then your version doesn’t have the diagnostic.

Ps you will get a better response to all questions if you post in the trade only forums.

Pps this is a good read.

The only option left is the main pcb.

This is the most common cause in my experience and I always keep a few on the van.

Sounds like the main pcb is acting up.
This is a Whirlpool variant and will suffer from all the usual problems.
If you are not up to repairing electronics then you can order up a rebuilt board from ebay for about £90.00.

Customer recording everything you say on their mobile phone to try and make a case to the retailer/manufacturer that their new cooker is faulty and why all of their buns have burnt. 😈

It is possible to bypass the filter by connecting the hose directly to the water inlet valve thereby saving you a large wedge of cash on a new filter housing.

If your tap water is drinkable the filter is not needed.

My 21 years old old whirlpool (USA built) doesn’t have a water filter and the water tastes fine.

Re: whirlpool american washing machine fills at end of spin

It will spray water into the drum during the spin cycle.
I think that its two or four short bursts in the first part of the spin.
The timer sequence chart should be tucked into the top of the cabinet when you raise the fascia panel.
