Re: Condensation in new lamonda fridge freezer

    Condensation is condensed atmospheric moisture.
If the door was shut for a week and lots of condensation formed then the door may not be closing properly and air is circulating through the compartment.
Try disconnecting the outer door from the fridge door for a while and see if the problem goes away.
If it does then it is down to the installation.

    Downloaded it.
Some of my stuff didn’t work so I reverted to windows 7.
I’ll let them play with it for a few months then try again.

Re: Whirlpool American Fridge Freezer broken down – help!

Continuity to ground means nothing unless measured with an insulation tester which is usually rated at least 500v.
The element is the most likely fault.
You could try switching on the power with the defrost element disconnected to see if the power trips out but bear in mind the compressor will probably not start up without an element in circuit.

Check the door switch which may have moisture ingress especially if there is condensation/ice in that area.
The void in which the switch sits is sometimes filled with insulating foam which will make the switch impossible to remove.
If it is then you may have to dig out the switch piece by piece and sort out the wiring.

On some of these you have to remove the stainless cladding which pulls off after the door handle has been removed.
    Awkward but not difficult.

    Re: whirlpool american fridge/ freezer

Remove the lower grille under the doors and hoover out any fluff then check that the condenser fan is running by taking off the rear cover.
The fan runs when the compressor runs.
Don’t forget to re fit the cover as the fridge will not work otherwise.
Check that the evaporator fan is running. You will hear it when you open the freezer door.
If all is OK you need to check if the defrost function is working.
The defrost element is accessed through the rear of the freezer compartment and the defrost timer is behind the fascia in the fridge.

That is as far as you can go without expert help.

    Re: Vehicle

I said goodbye to my van two months ago and got this estate car.
    Dacia Logan MCV Laureate.
I had all the bolt on extras except leather upholstery and still got change from £12k.
Only marginally less load space than the Volvo.
    3 years 60k warranty.
60/70 mpg and no road tax.

It is actually a Renault in a cheap frock but better than a van.

Re: Whirlpool American dryer 3rleq8033sw1 heating problems

I had one of these dryers doing this on a regular basis.
It was in a care home working round the clock drying towels.
I suspected overloading but of course they would never do that.
Anyway I solved the problem by rewiring the temp selector so that it was not possible to select high heat and all is well two years on.

Btw. The one shot stat on the heater box can be reset by freezing it then give it a sharp tap 😉

    Thermostat is easy to test.

Inside the black thermostat block is a thermal fuse on the blue/brown wires which will show continuity on the meter.
Also in the block is a bi-metal thermostat on the orange/white wires which will read open circuit at room temp and continuity when frozen.
