ParticipantRe: Whirlpool to do a recall on Hotpoint dryers
Looking at the photographs in that article I would have refused to do any kind of repair to that dryer due to the way it has been vented.
Where does the vent go to after it passes through the ceiling?Steve

ParticipantRe: Payments – First4Service
I have some invoices now more than 30 days and unpaid and others more than a week and not yet approved.
I have emailed Jason but have had no reply.
At these rates I am not prepared to wait for payment and will not be taking on any more jobs until payments are back on schedule.
What has also aroused my suspicions is that I had no jobs from them for three months and then 8 jobs in quick succession which makes me think that someone else has dropped them for some reason.Steve

They were apparently doing it right up to the end of March 2004 as the old units (of which I still see a few) neither self combust nor fall apart after being repaired so is anyone being held accountable for this debacle?
I am reluctant to attempt any repairs to these dryers as I do not wish to be held responsible for subsequent events.
Whirlpool/Indesit/Hotpoint and/or their lawyers could attempt to lay off any blame for failure on previous repairs.
Best advice is to get rid!

Or totally collapse three weeks later and the repairer is held liable for the recall!

Not seen the spec for the modification yet but if a stud/rivet thingy is fitted to the back of the drum to sweep away fluff build up what will happen when the rear bearing collapses and starts chewing out the rear seal?
Have they beefed up the rear bearing too?

Here it is £159.99.

I installed a top of the range Beko integrated dishwasher for a customer yesterday which was cheaper than the repair for the existing Whirlpool (No surprises).£219.00 including delivery

Not difficult.

Pause the opening shot and check out the burning tumble dryer.
It looks suspiciously like the ISE CD60W which currently resides in my laundry room.
I don’t remember there being a recall on these.

I always use the Aldi products which work fine.
Having said that though I don’t have expensive crocks to ruin so can’t justify using the branded stuff which may or may not be kinder on the glaze.
