ParticipantRe: gone dead
My cousin keeps 1600 free range laying hens and is barely scratching a living (pun not intended).
When they slow down laying to 3 eggs a week they get sold off for processing as thats the cost of their feed and he gets about 30p per bird.
Thats economics for you.
Sound familiar? 👿

Quiet here too.

ParticipantRe: Wiring in a new oven.
I did a lot of these for the local council in asylum seeker flats £35 + cable if needed.
Cheap as chips then they blew me out.
I think they found an Iraqi with a work permit.
Next update see news at ten 😈Steve

ParticipantRe: whirlpool hob element
Generic hotplates are widely available at a fraction of Whirlpool prices.
They sometimes light up with a different pattern when hot.
But then again so do the genuine ones so why pay over the odds. 😉Steve

ParticipantRe: speed awareness course
I had to do one in 2005 and it was £10 more than the penalty.
The “lesson” was well delivered and I haven’t transgressed since.
Be prepared for some gruesome accident footage and remember its all for real. :lesson:

ParticipantRe: Stateman XT5 Washing machine?
It’s a Vestel machine so the ISE2 seal should fit.
Or contact Statesman on 0844 848 5862.BTW these have a two year warranty so may be covered

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint TDL 34P Static Shock
My other half gets static shocks from everything she touches including me!
I can be sitting with the lap top on my knee and she says goodnight, passes me the TV remote and an audible and visible spark jumps the gap, the computer screen goes blank and I have to restart and reset all my passwords and preferences.
Then she walks into the kitchen and gets a belt from the cooker or maybe a radiator or anything that is earthed.
I think it’s the flip flop slippers she wears dragging over the carpets and charging her up to high voltage static but guess what it’s all my fault! :rolls:Steve

ParticipantRe: whos the idiot
The idiot in this case IMHO is the manufacturer who put frost protection into a vented dryer.
There is no water in the appliance to freeze so the only explanation I can come up with is that they used the same software as the condensing dryer to save on production costs.
As for putting a bowl of warm water onto the drum I’m glad its not me having to tell the customer to do this.
Who gets the blame when the customer starts the machine with the water still in it?Steve
