ParticipantRe: Whirlpool ADG7560/1 circulation pump/heater conversion
I scrapped one of these a couple of weeks ago.
Scandalous spares prices.
I was given part numbers for the motor and heater/pump housing as separate parts but still not worth doing.
I asked someone in the know if I could do a retro with the older parts but was told that it wouldn’t work.
Stitched up by Whirlpool yet again 👿
But at least I got a sale out of it 😉

ParticipantRe: Installing dishwasher – labour costs
I charge £85 for installing a replacement dishwasher on the understanding that extra plumbing/joinery work is not included.
Neither is disposal of the old unit(unless I can use it for spares)The market for replacement B/I dishwashers is growing which is hardly surprising considering how much cr@p has been sold in recent years.
I offer a supply & install package for £450 when writing off an existing appliance and have done 4 so far this month.
I use Statesman BFD 60/12 which is virtually the same machine as the short lived ISE dishwasher and has a 2 year warranty.

My 7 stone labrador was once savaged by a PUG 😯
The owner came round kicking off about my vicious dog 10 times bigger picking on his little dog.
Told him to put his dog back in his handbag and f**k off.
I still laugh when I remember the look on his face 😈

ParticipantRe: do you sell machines?
Currently using Statesman appliances as source for B/I dishwashers & F/S washing machines.
Similar to ISE Vestel sourced machines and 2 year warranty included.
Free delivery on 4 units or orders over £400.B/I D/W is simple to install and looks like a serviceable product.
Steve.
Edit. And ISE of course 😳

ParticipantRe: scrap prices
Scrap prices must be on the up.
I left a scrap machine outside the customers house whilst I installed the new one this morning and somebody nicked it :eeek:
Left me the packaging though.

You don’t have to answer, but I was interested in how much you charge your customer for the whole job? When they could have Hotpoint do it for £104.99Had a Hotpoint 1200 spin w/m last Friday with sealed tub assy/bearing failure and I told her to phone Hotpoint for fixed price repair.
Customer not at all pleased with Hotpoint “hard sell” attitude on the phone so called me back and I sold her a new washer and took it round same day.
Then got £20 beer money for the old one.
Happy days 😀

ParticipantRe: Comet Service & Customer Aftercare
Just had a request for report on Whirlpool SBS f/f that has had repeated faults.
I know where this is going and as this is within my level of expertise (got the certificates and everything) I quoted them £85 for a report and got shouted at. 😯Stuff em 😈 😈

ParticipantRe: Comet Service & Customer Aftercare
Slightly off topic but relevant (maybe)
I have had three calls already this month from people asking for independant reports on appliances purcased from one or another of the sheds where the goods and/or service have not lived up to expectations.
Not my line of work as the fee wouldn’t cover the aggro but the trend is definitely on the up. :hmm:
