I took a Sharp call a month ago and turned out same day as required.
Bearings totally shot to the point where it even threw the belt so I duly put in the report and invoiced for labour as per the contract.
Since that day I have received no new jobs so I assume that they are giving the jobs to other repairers who will do tub/bearing changes.I only ever got maybe 8 or 10 jobs from them in a month so it’s not the end of the world and if I’m not keeping myself available for same/next day service then my week is easier to plan.
Payment is due this week and I will come back if I don’t get paid.

Here’s mine, not as graphic as some as it is healing nicely thanks to some skilful stitching.
I was attempting to rotate a double oven on my service stand after removing the rear panel when the razor sharp edge started slicing into my arm.
It was me or the oven so I duly let go and the oven crashed to the floor, blood and broken glass eveywhere.
Seven stitches and the rest of the week off work plus the excess on my insurance to pay.Steve

ParticipantRe: Erratic Minerva payments
I invoice each job by email on the day of completion and payment lands in my account 30 days later so no complaints.
They do miss the odd one but pay up straight away when I phone the accounts dept.

Not so Martin it’s free delivery on any order so I guess they must have a special deal with parcelforce but great service anyway.

ParticipantRe: Emollient on clothing catching fire…
Care should always be taken when laundering fabrics soiled with oils and/or solvents
especially when tumble drying as stated in user instructions.
I have attended a tumble dryer fire where the load was cleaning cloths and aprons and such like from a pub kitchen which had been washed and then placed in a condensing tumble dryer.
The door was opened to check dryness and the load burst into flames.
Fortunately they had the presence of mind to slam the door shut which stopped the fire.
The small amount of flamable vapour left on the load was not being vented off as it was a condensing dryer and was ignited possibly by the door switch arcing when the door was opened. Not a Hotpoint dryer by the way.
