    Re: Integrated machine removal/installation?

I always fit the wooden door on dishwasher installations myself as apart from finishing the job and getting paid it is easier to line up the cupboard doors before finally fixing the appliance in position.
Anyway if kitchen fitters can understand the fitting instructions it shouldn’t be too difficult for an engineer………….should it? :rolls:

    Re: Burning smell

New door seal has not cured the problem.
Nothing gone under the drum, the rim has only picked up rubber on half of its circumference and the seal has a groove on about 2/3 of its face which suggests to me a weakness or dimension fault in the drum or the tub moulding.
BTW she did notice the problem earlier but says it has got worse.
Anyway the customer is not happy about having the tub out of her six week old washing machine especially after having been sold it on the quality and reliability ticket.
I have no worries about changing the tub/drum but it wont do much for customer relations 🙁

    Re: sat nav

The only problem with sat sav is that if you rely on it totally you know where you are going but you don’t know where you are.
You need to read the map first and and work out a route then let the sat nav do the last couple of miles.
I have one and when I am working an area I know very well it never picks the best route.
eg.tries to send me down nonexistant roads through army firing range in N Yorks, detour through hospitals in York & Darlington, takes me off a major dual carriagway and takes me on a detour back to the same road to re-enter on a difficult right turn, doesn’t tell me the route goes through a ford when it’s been raining for two weeks, takes me into a scrapyard in York and then tries to drive me through a field of sweetcorn.
A useful tool but you can’t beat a good map. 🙂

Re: Anyone use Transit Connect Van, Interested in your thoug

I bought a connect LWB just over three years ago and it has been great.
Considering how much time I spend in a van ordered it up with every avilable option except alloys (don’t want to look too flash).
It came with three years warranty and free servicing which has mostly been done overnight at no extra cost.
My front tyres go 25k miles at least, back ones a lot further
The service from Ford when needed has been second to none, but having said that I use the main Ford commercial dealer who operates 24/7 to cater for the big boys.
In the past I have tried Mazda & Fiat vans which were ok but having to deal with car orientated dealers for commercial vehicles servicing is a nightmare.
Only major problem I’ve had was this week when the exhaust gave up the ghost, but the Ford dealer fixed it same day and knocked 50{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} off as it was not long out of warranty.
So all in all not a bad experience so far but I wouldn’t have bought a van like this for an employee to thrash about in.

    The BBC good food show.
I wandered off while the wife sat watching James Martin (whoever he is)
    and found the Brittannia stand.
Looks like good kit but I won’t be buying unless there are substantial discounts to be had 😉

Take the cabinet off first, the air bottle is at the right hand side towards the back.
Now if you want to you can take out the wash basket and clean it out from inside but what I do is to drill a 1/4″ hole in the top of the air bottle and loosen up the cr4p inside and flush through before sealing up with a grommet.
Makes it an easier job for next time too 😉
