    Re: Whirlpool Sios Assistance Please

The part number is on my version of sios which is also out of date but I don’t know which version of the switch you will get as there have been three different ones used on this range of dryers to my knowledge.
Good news is you can make them all fit.
I usually throw away the instruction sheet that comes with it and work it out for myself.
Loads of wires left over when finished.

The thermostat you are looking at should show continuity through the large connections and the smaller connections should read approx 28K.
This is a heating resistance which comes on when the low temp option is switched on and makes the thermostat operate at a lower heat.

Are these serious contenders or are you trying to play one manufacturer off against another to get a better deal?
Or are you going to tell us next week?
    Or maybe not?

Re: Hotpoint 5 Year parts warranty

I had a similar one recently,Hotpoint WMA noisy.
Bottom counterweight had broken off with damage to the outer tub.
All I did was tip the machine back to let the weight drop out and tell the customer to ring Hotpoint.
They said that as she had let another repairer look at the machine the parts warranty was invalidated and I hadn’t even laid a spanner on it 😯
Next call was to trading standards, don’t know the outcome ‘cos I made a swift exit 😉

Slightly off topic but since I got an anti virus that actually works I’ve noticed that when I open SIOS it tries to get on the web and make contact.
Whats going on there then ❓

This will be the drum shaft seal running dry probably not properly lubricated on assembly.
Better get the manufacturer engineer in before the warranty expires as if left it can get expensive to repair.

Read the customer feedback on the website.
They are all dated about two years ago ❓
