when your looking for problem in the timer the resulting damage can be very small. most units use surface mounted traics the are approx 6mm by 3mm and all that will show is a small hole in the plastic

drum may well be ok but if its dropped due to bearing problem or spider failure it his the heater
in your case it may well be ok but it cost nothing to look at the heater when you remove it

a multimeter uses a 9 volt battery but a proper insulation tester uses a min of 240 volt and normally 500 volts. so your meter is not an accurate test. I use a multimeter and also neon screwdrivers both are a useful tools but cannot be relied upon in some cases so you have to take this into account when using them
if you disconnect the element and the machine works there is a very high probability its the element. what I would do before you order another on is take the element out and look for mechanical damage that might indicate a drum failure

think it a magnetic switch that goes off the magnet in the door seal so any small magnet should do
try it round where the seal fits normally by the control panel

you are measuring the heater from terminal to terminal whereas you should be measuring from terminal to earth and it has to be over 500,000 ohms if fact it has to be higher otherwise the electronics can get upset
from what you say you need another heater
    try the site shop

if you have not already done it i would still totally defrost it. ie both doors open for at least 36 hours
you say you checked the tubes for blockages but there has to be a way for the cold air to get in and a way for the air to return so there has to be 2 tubes. if either is iced it will not work
other members may have more idea as i don’t touch a lot of refrigeration

so its the RCD so your looking for an earth fault. could be a sagging element, bit of carbonised fluff in the wrong place, leaking hot moist air
also bad joints in the mains cacle feeding the machine as sparking can trip RCD’s

try doing an insulation test first

the programming involves pushing various buttons to change programme for various models. it does not change unless someone enters the programming function. I have not got that info as it comes in the box with the new timer but may be on the net if you dig around unless anyone else can help. but I don’t think it will alter your dispenser problem. As an engineer I would have opened the timer and looked for damage on the board where the dispenser is fed from

    Re: whirlpool td 3rleq8033sw2

    still the same question

    RCD or MCB?

RCD detects earth problems and has a test button on it
    MCB detects over current

    trips what ?
    RCD or MCB ?

if its RCD no they only react to earth faults but can react to bad sparking joints

I see the Enr number now missed it right under my nose but have you got the fd number
    did a quick search here
    http://www.repairaction.co.uk/bosch
I picked a random FD number and your Enr and it says it was part of the recall for fire problems
has yours been done ? if not check to see if its needed and I think they fit a new timer as part of the job
