ModeratorRe: Hotpoint DWF50 failing to drain
i would not have changed drain pump till you had acertained there was power getting to it
since the pump is new then it can be only 2 things1 broken wire between the programmer and the pump (check bottom of door where wire come through)
2 faulty programmerDave

on this dishwasher the problem will be the flood switch mounted front left hand side. you will find a plastic float and a plastic arm going to a microswitch
sound like float may have moved and jammed

ModeratorRe: TDS……ARGH!!!!!
have no probs with xp or 7 works treat
i use the iso file of the disk and run it using Daemon Tools Lite ( from file hippo ) ( creates virtual cd drive )
that enables me to run the disk on 4 systems at the same time also since all files are on the hard drive access is very fast

It’s not as if a couple of grand here and there is going to make much difference anyway. Whilst an interesting exercise in electrical theory, I would just bat it right back to them.
Just my two penn’orth….Dave
totally agree with that point. the ship problem stems from where they are made. they are built with whatever domestic supply is available and this has a knock on effect for all electrical products during the life of the ship.
get these probs every now and again. customers who import electrical product without asking first and then suffer the conseqencesDave

you can change voltage but not frequency without using electronics
have had a lot of ships using 60hz and the 50hz wont run not sure if its the same the other way round.
the motors will run slower ie if there doing 600rpm on 60 hz they will only do 500 rpm on 50hz
also the motor resistance will change with the frequency so motors will draw more current and may overheathope it helps

ModeratorRe: Miele W827 w/m programme problems
my theory is they could be making sometimes but not others + sparking upsetting electronics
anyway its worth checking
