have heard of people using epoxy but every one i have found i scrapped
from an engineers point of veiw its not a reliable repair but as an owner you cant lose anything

the machine has an anti flood system provided by a float in the base. have you checked this as it activates the pump

ok now check it get to temp and turns off
just in case you have welded the stat
set it to 100 degrees and see if it gets too hot

that will cause it to go bangdisconnect the wires and insulate them. do not connect them to anything

it was the way you said you bypassed it
made it sound like you joined the wires togetherthat lamp does look like its been causing a problem
Davemotor speed would be my worry
the drum has to turn at a specific speed before spin the make sure the washing is distributed evenly so it does not bounce.
also if it washes too fast the clothes move to fast and dont fall on each otherDave
short answer. dont know
only electrolux would know that but unless they alter the pulley sizes if you put a bigger drum it would go at different speeds
it may be the same firmware but there may be a way the manufacturer can configure it for different machines
