no as long as the socket is part of the ring and not a spur of it

if socket has one cable going into it it will be a spare and could do with being uprated

first as K said if ther applaince load exeeds 3Kw then it needs a dedicated cooker main to feed it

some induction hobs can be plugged into a 13A socket as the software inside limits the total power to 3Kw. cant see any reference to this in the model you have listed

if both units are like this then you would need to check if the socket that you are plugging into is on the ring main and not a spur off the ring main

The oven power is nore or less constant when in use but turns on and off to keep temp correct. the hob power is dependant on use. its unlikely you would have all the rings on full as once things start to boil you turn them down. So its very unlikely to draw the maximum power ever.

well at over £400 you would have to get enough work to justify the out lay and you would need to up your charges. if you get 40 jobs per year you would have to add £10 a call just to break even

if it was me I would tell them to get someone else but thats me. if your skills are in short supply you wont lose much and they still may use you

have had to make health and safety statements but would never pay for a course

refitted lots of pins with no problem but would only do it once

cant believe Hotpoint want £16 for a bit of bent wire

you could probably find a nail the correct size you could buy a handfull for less than that

common fault on older Miele dishwasher is the pressure switch mounted on the pump motor. rubber diaphragm fails and water get into the switch electrics

take the base off find the switch and see if you can find dampness in the plug connectors

part no 6996821 £80 from Miele ( only buy part from Miele themselves)

switching things off is a good thing. in fact a lot of modern appliances are not off but in standby which means they consume power when not in use.

older appliances are less likely to have safety components and in your case its likely the hydraulic tube fractured. since increased pressure turns the stat off when it breaks it wont turn off. hence your problem. if Belling had thought about it they could have switched the element through the same switch as the fan effectivly stopping the problem you have. somewhere in the design stage they made a decision not to

any machanical device can fail so it does happen but unless you keep flammable objects in the oven when its not in use the liklelyhood of fire is low. its also unlikely to happen when its not in use. You have more chance of a fire in a tumble drier as it contains lots of flammable material

some fault codes are not shown to the customer so interogate that first

had it happen in other cookers including more modern ones. had it in a hob the other week, one ring was full power all the time
