Normally with the whirlpool dishwashers if it does not heat then it will stop during the cycle and the programme lights should flash.Does any light flash?

Also if you can give the 85…. number ?

HI Liz,

First of all please switch the appliance off before doing anything.Specially where it involves the water, it could become quite dangerous.

Where did you cleare the blockage from?was it the filter or the waste trap under the sink where the drain pipe of the dishwasher connects?

Also can you hear the drain pump running when you start a programme?
Try taking the drain pipe(that connects to the sink waste)out and put it in a bucket and then turn the dishwasher on and see what happens

Well Much of England is hard water area.If you live in an area where the water is soft then you do not need to use the dishwasher salt.

If you use the 3 or 4 in one tablets then they have salt in it but with the feedback from others it is better to use seperae salt and rinse aid.

If the auto sign on the display is flashing then you have to set it to manual.I am not sure how to do that unless I have a look at the oven.

The Snowflake is for the dishwasher rinse aid and the other is for the dishwasher salt.

The salt compartment will be full of water if there is no salt in it.Just add salt and water will come out.You have to fill it completly.It may take upto 1/2kg of the dishwasher salt to fill it up.

Just to remind you that salt and rinse aid are special dishwasher salt and rinse aid not the kitchen salt and the fairy liquid(people have put such things in the dishwasher).

Can you please explain a bit more about the leak?

Is it broken? or does it overflow from the dispenser?
In case it overflows it could be soap stuck in the soap hose. It sometimes overflows from the conditioner comaprtment if the machine cannot take it.
Clean the conditioner compartment holes and see.

sounds something major to me.It could be the bearings, drum pulley or the stone broken.But again if some metal is stuck inside the drum that could quite noisy as well.

Better to have it checked and see how it goes.
5 years out of ariston is not bad.You have been quite lucky in my opinion.

As soon as it starts to spin it makes a hell of a noise

Did this noise appear suddenly or it gradually increased?
And when you turn the drum with hand, does it still make noise?

Sometimes when something gets stuck in the filter, it make make noiesse because it touches the small fan of the drain pump.You will probably have to pull it a bit hard as somethings must be stuck in there.Use pilers or some other tool to pull it out.

squadman I am a qualified electrician as well so no need to show how to wire a plug or tell about ohms law.

Sometimes what happens you get confused with simple things(happens to everyone) so better to ask someone instead of just be quite about it.And that is the whole point i think of this site to help one another?

I did have this tool to test the door lock but i lost it so just wanted to confirm.And because locks have delayed period so I thought better ave explaination of the connections.

The part no for the Oven seal is 082501400.Can you not glue the old seal back on?

Are you sure they are diffrent models?

They look the same to me apart from the colour(I think one is silver)
Both are 1200spin, 6KG load and A+,A,B ratings

Unless one of them is WAE24162.Then this model is better than WAE2416S, because it has express washing system it will reduce the wash time by 30-40{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d}
