You are quite welcome to this site and feel free to ask.
Is it frost free fridge freezer?
Do you have proper ventilation for the fridge freezer? and how old is the fridge?
By the way never heard of this company before, was it installed by the kitchen company?

If it is a Gas problem… what would the procedure be.. at least cost
Re-gas has to be done by a professional because of the Refrigerant. You have to collect the gas and dispose off properly with the recovery machine.
The charges for that particular job varies b/w £80 and £120.
Best to have to inspected.
Have a look in Find Repairs to see your nearest engineer.Regards

ParticipantRe: Bearings for a Bosch WOF2000 FF05
When it comes to the bearings then even the expert guys think twice before doing the job because;
1 It is costly(In UK it will cost you b/w £100 & £150)
2 It is a long job(atleast 2,3 hours)
3 It may be a 2 person job
According to the model you have a top loader washing machine I believe. The bearing kits retail at around£40.It is not just opening the screws, one has to make sure that he does not damage the bearings(when putting) and also install it in such a way that it does not leak even after one puts everything back.
It will be very hard for a normal person to do such a big job or shall I say do successfull repair if you have not done it before.
Best to call a pro in your area.

ParticipantRe: AEG L16810 W/D Help
Guys got another same washer dryer but what happens is that no matter which programme I choose, it goes straight to Drain, and the display shows 3 minutes and then finishes the drain cycle and that is it.
Does not show any Error Code.
Any Ideas?

ParticipantRe: Zanussi ZX56/4W Fridge freezer problem
Is it a frost free fridge freezer?
if it is then you probably have to switch it off for 24 hrs and then switch it back it on.
If not then usually gas leaks in the fridges.I have seen Zanussi fridges just over a year’s old and same problem with them.Reason why this normaly happens is because of the internal cooling system.

Can you hear the compressor running all the time?
If so then it could be gas problem. As for the panel inside, at high thermostat setting, drops of ice should form. If the compressor is not running then it could be few other things.

If you take the two small black panels out from the front bottom, you will see the sensor in a brown, white holder connected upwards on to the body.
You have to be careful though, as i did break quite a few of these holders. The other sensor is by the heater, if you take the left panel out it will be in the middle of the heater.
Hope this helps

ParticipantRe: WEEE & Recycling
Hi Jim,
What should we do with that license. How do we dump the washing machines with that license? Do we have to take washing machines or fridges to the recycling centres or would the wholesalers will pick up from us or the someone else will pick it up?
Also does giving machines to metal scrap people come into safe recycling?
It will be helpful if someone outlines a guideline for us so we understand it fully.

ParticipantRe: WEEE & Recycling
Well I was contacted by a training college who are offering almost free NVQ training for businesses regarding WEEE and it is funded by the Goverment. The whole goal for this scheme is that we should recycle the appliance instead of dumping them.
My Point is how the heck we recycle when repairing and then selling them could cost almost same as new machine.Not to mention the new disposable items whirlpool and others are making.What should we do then? Just an example I am sure you guys know better than me;
The bearing seal of a whirlpool washer dryer I had to repair was comming to about £80.the bearing about the same price. So how do I convince the customer to pay for the repair(around £230 I guess) then If they can get a new washer dryer for around £280(not whirlpool)
And in my experiance, hardly anyone spends that much money on a repair to be honest.

ParticipantRe: Is a Hotpoint the quietest washing machine available?
Well so far, all the hotpoint supersilent machines I supplied (including my one at home) are not quiet. They should be quiet at the full spin but it bloody makes more noise than it should do.To be honest I am not happy with these Hotpoints,as they charge you a lot for those machines and then we have to call the engineers two three times to come and tighten the bolts and still no go.
Maybe other people have good experience with them

ParticipantRe: Testing or Bypassing Door Interlock
WOW
Did not realise that my thread would have so many replies!! LOOLJust to let you know guys, i only asked so that I can test the door lock and I am trying to make a test kit just to test motors so that I do not have to connect the door interlock and keep locking it with a screwdriver or some sort.
I never do things like these at the customer’s place i.e. leaving a machine without the door lock or other dangerous fault. What i usually do when I have to take the part out of the machine, i take the plug and the fuse out from the plug(as well as advising the customer not to switch on) that is usually at the back of the machine and then put the machne back so that it cannot be turned on deliberately.
If anyone has better advise or idea than that then please let me know. And no chance of taking out stats or cut outs, I will definately not sleep that night if I ever do it.

ParticipantRe: Ariston CD12TUK
hi Simon,
They actually do not use the dryer and it still happens. It just locks the door and does nothing. The dryer is at off position. By putting new timer in, it worked ok for one week and then the same thing.the timer is not cheap on these. So I am not sure what to do!
