    Re: proline dryer

thanks martin for your reply. so if i go to repair one of these and the belt has snapped new bearing kit plus belt or the drum has to be changed as well. which would probably mean scrap. as all that would be the price of a new tumble dryer do the hotpoint creda give the same problum fasetester.

    Re: proline dryer

thanks guys for all your input so it is a waste of time replacing these belts. is there any other dryers that have this problum breaking new belts. the are murder to get round the motor shaft. how come the first belt lasted a year or more. is it when the play comes into the drum that the belt breaks so you need to make sure before you replace the belt that it is going to be a satisfactory repair. fasetester. 🙂

    Re: proline dryer

thanks helo 75 for your reply i went to see it today sure enought the belt had broken again. there is a lot of play and movement in the front of the drum. does the drum jam with the load and the motor shaft burn throught the belt. so if the dryer is pre 06 the bearing kit would make no

differience or would it cure the problum. or the only cure a new drum or dryer when you push the drum back it scrapes on the back panel what tumble dryer would you guys recommend for a fairly big family. thanks fasetester

thanks brian where is the pic. i dont know if this is the problum i am going to look at it today. as i replaced the belt about six week ago and the woman said it is the same drum not turning the think it is the same thing so you should be repairing it again for no charge thanks fasetester.

    Re: proline dryer

thanks brian for your reply does every kit come with the back and the front bearing. is the front glued on or does it just sit in to the recess some kits just have the bearing plate pin and other ones pop rivets is this a handy job thanks fasetester 🙂

    Re: proline dryer

thanks simonb for your reply does the bearings come as a kit front and back. is the front a felt bearing and have the to be glued on. before i left the had it loaded like a cement mixer and i though i could here it make a scraping sound. does the bearing make for a good repair is there not a mod of a different drum if the bearing have gone would the drum be hard to turn and jam up. thanks fasetester
