Re: Vauxhall Combo 1700DI central locking side door.

    Thanks Whitevanman

Will have a go on the internet to see what mods were used but there seems to be a lack of information out there. Can dig out masses for my old BMW motorbike but not Vauxhall Combos?

If the door locks up again, willl have another look at the spring assisted contacts on the door instead of the pillar and move the whole unit out a fraction to take up the slack. I hope!

Re: Vauxhall Combo 1700DI central locking side door.

Had from new since 2003 with a rear seat that folds up and have now taken out the complete lock and checked out the wiring ok with a 12 volt PSU.

Door pillar contacts over time bend in very slightly causing one of the three contacts from the sliding door not to make a good connection when closed.
As a couple of amps have to flow to the solenoid it would not fully open.

Thats the only problem I have had with a Vauxhall Combo van apart from a headlamp bulb blown over the years, will soon have the fun of changing the belts in a very tight engine area when the misses is out and not listerning in my workshop.

    Hi Waters and Micky32

After a lot of hard looking found a minute hairline crack on the PCB using an eye magnifier.
Yes chaps, just by the relay.
While I was there it did heat up on the 60* position every time the next day customer reported cold again.
Out with soldering iron and heating restored. Have seen the tracks burnt badly before around the relay but this time it was really well hidden.

Thanks all of you for your help in getting it heating all the time.

If the thermistor is ok then will take out the pcb for any damaged tracks around the relay Micky 32 and take along soldering iron.

    Thanks superfix

Thats just what I wanted, so that I don’t have to stay there all day waiting for immersion element to come on or not at the start of the wash.
Elderly lady has the beginnings of dementia so one has to spend quite a lot of time with her whilst trying to sort out the heating problem.

Thanks again chaps, story to continue on Monday with a spare NTC.

    Thanks Martin

Will have a look in that area and see what the resistance is doing against temp. Yes agree if a triac went bang on the board then nothing would be on the element.

    Thanks

Back again Martin with full apologies for grabbing Sticky whilst having a bad morning with the children. It will not happen again.
Please could you tell me what the aprox time would be expected for the heating element to come on in the Bosch washing machine for a standard cotton’s wash at 40* water temp. Mains water comes in at around 12* centigrade.

Just trying to fathom out if there is anything wrong with the control board.

Apologies to all concerned about using Sticky. Came in after a bad morning taking son around in van and started a new thread while trying to do two things at once. My brain can only work on one item at a time.

    Will not happen again

Sorry chaps, the model number is WFL2066GB/08 FD8409 605195.
Have now been told heater comes on when you dial in a 60* wash but not warming up on a 40* wash?
Element reads around 23 ohms and takes 2100 watts when on with motor running.

    Thanks Martin

After some further stripping down of the pipes the main pump now comes on and the heater shows 2.4KW and heating up to the 70* centigrade.
One further question, If the Eco 50* Centigrade is used it comes up with a reading of 142 minutes to complete?

This time seems rather long to me, does this mean the sensor is covered in muck that measures the turbitity of the water being pumped around Martin.
If it is the snesor, what is the best way to get at it.

    Hi clivejameson

Will check on the microswitch but I think it should be ok as the natural position of the wiring puts it in the relaxed position.
This bosch has all three contacts used from microswitch and the wires would not twist around to get it wrong.

Still scratching head and hope that the AKO 546 464 control board is ok?

    Hi bagman

    Thanks for your quick reply.
When the part comes from UK Whitegoods I can then pull the whole unit apart and see how the thermostat is mounted on the end.

Yes will have a closer look at the pressed steel pulley.

    LG WM10260T washing machine

    Back, helo_75

The LG washing machine that I had put new bearings in has no circulation pump. Only the standard drain pump nothing else.

Had put in a full load of towels to listen to what goes on.
Drum running ok then after 10 minutes this very loud metallic clicking started. Took belt off and rotated drum by hand with the full load on board nothing clicking or bashing up against metal?

Motor bearings smooth and nothing gritty plus brushes ok with loads of meat left on them. Put back belt onto the pulley and the noise has gone away for the first wash. Sure it will come back but still have not solved the problem.

The sound is like a ball race cage smashed up and very loud metallic clicking which seemed to transfer to the outer drum. All I had done was to rotate the motor a few times to check on its bearings.

Did take out the water pump to clear a lot of grey sludge that had built up around the output and the impeller rotated ok.
Had also run the washing machine for two hour hot washes in my workshop with some light cotton clothing and there was not a squeak.

Had the pump pushing out water with the pipe over one metre from the ground, no problem.
Will have to have a close listen to see if it is metallic or plastic with a full load on board.
