    Re: Indesit Smart Card

As far as I know this model is still using an eeprom, part number C00145652, and module C00143224.

    Re: Indesit Test Tool

Yes they do work. You can still find the error codes just by running the machine and checking error lights but the test plug just makes life easier. Also good to be able to run through a quick test routine after a repair to check if everything is working ok. It all depends on how many Inde/Hotpoints you are going to work on as to whether it is financially viable. Had the test plug for about a year but never needed the low end adaptor yet so could probably do without that.

Don’t take this the wrong way but have you actually checked the thermostat to see if it is overheating and the thermal fuse is doing what it is supposed to do. 😳

Had this on a similar machine and it was caused by an earth fault on the motor.

Can you give a better description of the white wire which you say is looped back. What do you mean by “looped back”?

Sorry but it sounds like when you were changing the element you pulled a wire off the fan motor. Was the fan motor working before you changed the element?
I think it is time you called in an expert. 😉

You say “The fan motor has one light grey cable which runs back to the oven switch.” Aren’t you missing another wire? 😕

If it is around 4 to 8 years old it is almost definitely motor brushes. 🙂

Re: blomberg wash machine door locked shut

If you leave the mains switched off for 5 minutes and the door still does not open then it is definitely the door lock faulty.

As Penguin45 says it is a well documented problem with water in the door lock blowing the module tracks.

Unplug the machine for five minutes then plug back in and switch on. If the pump runs immediately then it is either an earth fault on the pump or triac on the module is faulty. Worth checking EMW for replacement module.

If you loosen the element nut slightly you should be able to move element and hence the retaining bracket enough for the bolt to reach.

Re: Indesit WIDL102 fault code help please

Hole in drum is probably for the small bolt which secures the element retaining bracket inside the drum. If you are ver lucky you may be able to find the bolt under the machine and may be able to locate it back into the bracket.
If it has been leaking onto the pump have you checked for an earth fault on the pump?

If there is no sound at all from the freezer it is probably the thermostat.

    Re: Belling Format hob

I would normally say it was definitely the regulators but if you have changed them then that is covered. Does the wiring to the hob elements go through a large plug and socket under the left hand side of the hob? Belling used to have this arrrangement and they used to have problems with bad connections, causing intermittent faults.
I take it that if you have changed the regulators then you are electrically competent. Please make sure power is off before checking.
