yes thanks alex, i knew it would crumble when i left….lol..

i have no axe to grind with, bg, but i dont mind having a dig on behalf of some of my former colleagues who for obvious reasons cant say to much..

in a way im glad that wheels are coming of , purely because when i did leave i said the writing on the wall to a few fellow engineers. and thankfully my thoughts have proved to be correct-ish.. so i have a wee bit bragging rights with my former colleagues now.

    not that there bothered,

Re: British Gas To Drop Appliance Servicing?

i think its different in parts of the country,
Scotland’s electrical teams were the golden child of brit gas for a while,
producing good results mostly well above the rest of the uk,
morale was high, bonus was flowing and all was well,. looks like this may be the case in wales ???

but when i was there every time i went on a course, (down south)i was told that it was s$$$t to work for in most areas down south..mostly down to clueless/bossy boots managers, and travel patterns, morale was generally crap, but they paid quite good for whitegoods,

the biggest prob they have is retaining electricians, as sparkys only paid same rate as w/goods eng,s .promised the earth with reguards to bonus, etc,
most seem to leave relatively quickly..

thats why they are re-training whitegoods engineers..to be sparkys,

they do pay good money for whitegoods work, and if you can live with all the corporate brain washing you get,…then its quite a good number..

Re: British Gas To Drop Appliance Servicing?

the wheels seems to be coming off, a little bit more

another 2 engineers leaving, this month. more off on the sick ,

thats about 20 who have left in past 2 years. (scotland)
dare say it will be more down south

the sad thing about this is, they are going to comet..
im not slagging comet,……..(thats for another time).

comet are not regarded as the best to work for, i am speaking from experience, so when engineers leave a company who were good to work for, and go to a company who are known in the trade as not so good to work for ,that proves all is not well in the brit-gas garden.

as ive said a couple of times..the writting was on the walls when 2 gas managers were appointed to run brit -gas electrical devision…
people with no experience in whitegoods, they have tried to enforce gas procedures onto electrical repairs which simply dont work.
all the managers underneath them have been running about producing glossy reports on how successfull the new procedures are.. (haha),

nobody seems to be able to tell them that they are way out of there depth,
esd engineers are hoping that results and engineer morale may raise an eyebrow or two in the ivory tower and someone with a bit of sense will see the light.

    Re: Attractive Blonde

when i was an apprentice many ,moons ago
customer came into work shop looking for a energy reg for a cooker..

she pushed her hand towards me showing me the switch…as i took the switch she said ” ive had it off” ive actually had it off a few times..

after struggling to keep my laughter in…i hurried away to find switch…
took a few mins to compose myself…went back towards customer who then started to tell that her husband has had it of a couple times as well…

i then could not control my laughter..i was poorless you know when you really struggled to stop laughing in the 1st place….i could even speak to customer , the tears were running down my face..

i then stumbled of to a workmate who was oblivious as to what was happening….stuffed the switch in his hand and pointed to customer, then ran off..

Re: Samsung RS21dcns fitted cover now warm fridge

you would probably be better to change

    defrost sensor da32-00006u
    thermal fuse da47-00095e

have you fitted samsung latest cover evap assy…if not you might need to

    da97-05290q without cool zone
    da97-05290 with cool zone…

also b4 you do anything check evap, and drip tray heater are working…

via forced operation…you can force fridge heater to come on…

    hope this helps

    Re: mini bus buisiness ??

this may sound silly but i dont think wants to make big bucks, in fact im sure he would run it even @ a small loss , he really just wants something to do and this is what he fancy,s.

im sure he would be cheaper as buis would be run from home..and he is a mech so maintenance wont be an issue.

im really just trying to get some facts/figures so i can give him a ball park figure, and then he can decide himself…

    cheers guys..
