Re: built in gas double oven query ?

i think the preference for gas ovens comes from the moister cooking atmosphere and the fact a decent gas oven will outlive a electric oven. leccy oven elements seem to see 2-3 years of life out of an element (esp bosch/neffs, bellings, and hotpoints – i.e. the big main 3. But the youngest gas oven we sold our gassafe engineer has been out to was just over 5 yrs old.

Also yes, new world only do single and t/cav gas ovens

    Belling offers the xou90g
Stoves offer the 900gdo and 900gRdo (Fotostar model)

Baumatic may well still make one but their build quality is pretty poo

Dont think bosch neff or siemens do

Elux group might have one between Elux, AEG, Tri/ben and Zanussi but Elux oven are expensive for what you get

hotpoint engineers now fit bearing kits, and need special permission to order even tub rear halves

hmm ok didnt realise all i knew is my friendly ex-hotpoint engineer from a couple of years ago wouldnt fit anything other than a drum assembly as it would otherwise ruin his schedule for all his other call outs booked in for him on that day 😀

forgot things are tight at indesit – serves them right for giving comet and currys stupid prices for new washers that indies cant get close to 😛

bosch waste hoses are pretty flimsy and crack easily. bosch dw bases dont remove easily as you have to lay them on their back or if your skilled enough to avoid water contamination in the electronics, on their head. problem is the circ motor is suspended with rubber bushes on hooks on the base, and the base helps push the motor seal on to the main cavity so really u have to drain the base and let it dry thoroughly then watch the dw fromt he side (fully assmbled) out of its cabinet until it shows where the leak forms

Re: Bosch SRS43E02GB problem – stops mid cycle with no power

surely first stop is clear all your filters? its possible something from you current wash has obstructed the drainage of water – clear thin plastic wrapping is great at doing this and youd never notice it if its fallen into your dw

th enext thing is to look in the base for waster leakage. sounds like it could be the anti-flood kicking in and cutting the machine out. if it was a wiring thru the door fault surely id expect it to fail the minute you shut the door – i.e agitate the cabling?

dont forget bosch dws are well known for seal failures. obviously this would normally happen after a few mins of filling but worth checking first if the seals only just given up before doing anything else.

also check your pecker for wear first too. wiggle the door first to see if the lock actuates at all.

you say that but because it was so well engineered every fasterner was either a screw or a bolt of a uniform size. none of this swap-your-tool-every-5-seconds mularky!

the only other washer ive come across with 4x sus struts was a 35 year old bosch washer dryer i had to dismantle before removing from an apartment in a converted stately home on the 5th floor (no lift just a narrow stairway)

talk about engineering – it made stainless steel look cheap – everything was machined and engineered out of brass and the balancing weighs were cast iron in that. poor thing had to come down in 5 pieces to be within H&S guidelines for moving heavy objjects lol. felt really bad replacing it with with a hotpoint w/d

Not really qualified for this, but if it helps I know Mercury ranges come in the 3K budget and although ive never used one i keep get asking for them due to personal recommendations.

Personally wouldnt touch a smeg – been caught out too much on their other stuff and the style is great but the internals are of zanussi/baumatic qulaity with smeg prices lol.

At the end of the day its really up to you. Looking at the long term future of the appliance, then these guys know the ISE inside out, and im pretty sure a call out on one of them wont be 99 quid before they even get in the van, unlike miele. I know that askos went on and on and ill allow the forum to correct me if im wrong but i believe the ise is based on one of those swedish workhorses.

Then theres the cost of the parts. Not very long ago we repaired a 6 year old miele vented dryer that cost £450 new. The parts alone were £130.

I’m keen to find out if this works as it would be muchly appreciated if specialist can then explain the logic as to why he picked out the ceramic resistors.

And if it helps any bosch will only have a 2 yr warranty. To get the longer warranty you will either need to get it extended or buy a siemens with a promotional 5 yr warranty. A lot of the Mieles now only come with 2 year warranties up to about £800 mark, the ones which have 5 yr ones tend to be offered on the slower selling models.
