Re: smeg 10054 format dishwashers – fills and drains simulta

right finally got this beast in the workshop as cust is never home and upon whipping off the base, and checking everything it all seems to check out ok.

except the underside salt tank solenoid is covered in salt residue, and giving no reading at all. whats the set up for overfilling with these tanks, i.e if that solenoids dead, will there be an overfill sensor/floodtrip inside the tank that cuts in? also would i be right in assuming this valve is only supplied as part of whole dispenser…?

beko now has 2yr warranty on all built-in, and they really arent *that* bad at doing dishwashers jim! and dont forget the smeg is graded too :/

katy you really should buy a bosch/neff tho!

not quite, it did point you to the module being footkid 😉
thing with elux is that you gotta learn how to “interpret” their diagnostics, which only really happens when you see a lot of their machines. the error codes need to be taken as a pointer/guide only and their explanations with a large pinch of salt! Otherwise service force would be out of a job…

Re: trouble finding bosch was24469gb/24 handle – siemens typ

cheers don, now ive read it, i remember reading that as well! shame my memory sucks and i forgot about it! and im younger than you 😮 theres no hope!

hmm might get onto bsh and see if we can get a door sent out then, as it sounds like the std part i have here wont be compatible afterall if the actuator moulding is in the wrong place 🙁

    edit:
googled 644575 and found this as a reference
shape looks similar, albeit silver trim instead of all white, but seems its still available on the continent to buy and i know connect deal direct with bsh germany rather than bsh uk, and according to connect it would seem its still orderable. its also a special order at qtx who have it a bit cheaper so hopefully they deal direct with bsh germany too! keep you all posted how it gets on 🙂

Re: trouble finding bosch was24469gb/24 handle – siemens typ

Hey bob, i popped in and double checked today before posting (been around long enough not to always trust a customers eyesight) even cam-phoned a pic to make sure i couldnt get it wrong! hence the kd code too 😀

i always check bsh direct first, and noted their comp door ass, which theres no chance customer will want to pay for 😉 before going on connect, and your link is the part ive got sitting in front of me. so basically what i need is either the siemens style handle part no. or knowledge of whether rest of door assembly will accept the 648708 part :/

    Re: new dishwasher advice

they both seem really cheap… …but i have no idea about the reliability or customerservice records of either company

the old saying is never truer – you get what you pay for. i see the indesit is listed at £300 which lasted you 4 years… so you could argue the candy will last all of 2 years?!

the smeg might be a better option, but they arent the easiest to fault find on, and parts arent cheap either.

honestly, i wouldnt say id buy either. bosch/neff (bsh group) are pretty much the market leaders for integrated dishwashers, certainly when it comes to replacements and they are well worth stumping up £400 for a basic one that will give you plenty of years of service. there biggest problem usually during year 0-5 of their life is blockages caused by people mistaking them for waste disposal units…

and if you want figures of V.F.M. £240 smeg is guaranteed for a year, £400 bosch is guaranteed for 2 years. if the smeg is terminal during second year, a bosch therefore works out better value for money. If you still really dont want to buy quality in the sub-£250 bracket then id look at the bekos, at least their parts are reasonable, and found them straightforward to work on.

Re: Bosch fridge freezers – made in Turkey?

the tiny hole is probably a drainage hole. if its icing up its probably blocked with crud. should be able to force the block off ice out with finger pressure, then rod the hole with a semi-flexible blunt object. dont use knitting needles or other rigid pointy items 😉

and yes imo current crop of elux just doesnt seem to last. and yes, frost free in general…

hmm cant lay my hands on the 1600 main module, but have a 1300 wil133 main module spare. would the wil153 indesco comm. motor pop that board, or would it be fine to use just to make sure rest of components are ok? checked on connect and theres 3 motors listed for a 133, one of which is the same as the 153 motor on this machine… just wanting to check as i know how fragile these machines are

    see pm…

e69 – washing element interupted… see page 46 of pm’d link… (can also be found on connects mediator)

also remember service manual is only a guide. dont forget to nip the element wiring terminals on the pcb end, and also worth checking ntc loom (the superthin wires) are ok as these are prone to internal breaks, so check continuity between ntc terminal and pcb terminal. wiring down there is often pretty tight. but doesnt sound healthy tho, and have fun taking out the module 😉

Re: Bosch fridge freezers – made in Turkey?

id pick a turkish bosch over even an italian made zanussi/elux at the moment.

just stay away from frost free.

if you want german you need to buy liebherr or miele (liebherr with miele branding and pricetag)

have you considered gorenje? (http://www.gorenje.co.uk) very reliable machines. only negative is some of the plastic trays are a bit flimsy, but saying that, bosch freezer bins are fairly brittle nowadays too.

ps turkish boschs have “made in turkey” printed on the cardboard packaging
