    Re: Amica Appliance suppliers…

is there any chance an extra trade discounts on supplying these appliances as we are retailers and repaires i think its only fare the Β£rate on a fix is not to be snubed at but if you count the whole of the job fix up inc the disposal of the old parts there is not a great deal Β£.. in the job.

iv only had to breakdowns out of 53 units iv sold since amica launched in 2008 the last to 14 months old and 6 months
the customer had to wait a few weeks for a repair and the 2nd one i put a hoover machine as a loan .

an extra trade dicount would encourage SALES AND TAKE THE PAIN OUT apoljizing with your cap in your hand to the customer because i sold the appliance.

Years Ago i had a Couple Of Appliances That Wore broken down out in the sticks” :rolls:
On Inspection The Concrete counter weights had broken.

while transporting a new set to the customer by the time i arrived on checking the counterweights To my horror 😯 they had broken.

This happened Several times tried all ways to transport them some roads round this way there full of pot holes.

In The End The Only ❓ Solution i could think of was to cut to size some sleeves of a good cardboard layer the block with 5 pieces of cardboard both sides and tie it with Steel Strapping Ribbon
By The Time i Packed The Weights In A Box With Extra cardboard packing everything seem to work fine πŸ™‚

Mind you these days they spray the concrete weights with a plastic coating saves them shaving against each other and chipping.

Re: Why do some oven elements last longer than others

last year i done one where the customer supplied there own.
basally I was calculating the job in her kitchen and instantly she came up with a price she had on esapares on-line in front of me.
as you can imagine she had blown my quote out of the roof.
so i agreed to supply Labour only. six months later it had gone again .
i thought thanks, its not my responsibly you supplied the part
espares did supply another free and i had double labour πŸ™‚ .

the reason i was asking the blinking appliance is in a long narrow galley kitchen with A600mm walkway between the cupboards. so it would be A withdraw slide the thing sideways over the backdoor step and round to the lawn.
If The front panel comes off it would be ideal.

Just been out on this one 20 Min’s call πŸ™‚
May i make a Suggestion , when i going to fit the tub weight back in may use Some clear Mastic Around The Tub Locators On the block It may stop The bolts vibrating loose In the Future.
It always Worked on the Hotpoint Stones :rolls:
