    Hi

Sounds like element in fridge down to earth as I changed one for this yesterday. It looked to me as if moisture had entered into ends of element causing earthing fault. Thats my own option. Were you given any warranty on the repair when it was last changed?

    Hi Dave

This link may help with part numbers

    http://www.appliancepartsnationwide.com/DDE5211BBL.htm

From here I think heater is WE11X60 and Bearing a possible WE3X37 but would ask you check on parts list.

I cannot find a supplier in uk but on EBAY there are some sites selling these parts which will come from USA.

    Hi

Thank for your reply and the information about the defrost with heater being disconnected. learn something new everday

The segment lit – is that because there is no heater or is there another fault?

I have had a look for fault codes through the masses of posts on this appliance but can not see anything that relates to that segement.

    Hi

The filter only comes complete with mains lead which is part number C00119257. From my memory the earth wires on these machines are black.

    Hi

Have you checked the cut out fitted to side of heater tunnel? It is a manual reset version with a red push pin in the middle. Check for continuity through this cut out and if not push pin in to reset. ( cuts power to elements). If this has cut out check for blockages in the condensor etc as air flow has been restricted

    Hi

I Have 2 customers whose hotpoints freeze during the cycle and need to be reset by unpluging the appliance. From hotpoint they believe that the toc in the motor is tripping causing the module to stop the appliance. You can only get it going again by unplugging at mains to clear the module of its fault information.

I have replaced motors in both and awaiting to see if I get a call back.

    units are WMF740p.
