    Re: TDWSF83BEP Door Filter Light

Sorry to ask this but u have defo checked that your condensor unit is clean with no lint blocking it?!

Other than that the NTC values you found online are the exact ones quoated in the tech manual for this dryer.

The test program susjeted by johnny will work for this dryer, 7 o clock posistion, or MIX program going by the manual.

This is also a reset you can try

Within 10 sec the following sequence must be followed:

    -selector 6 o clock posistion
    -push “start” button 3 times
    -turn selector 1 posistion clockwise
    -push “start” button 3 times

This will reset the dryer after a safety failure.

In past experiance iv found if it was an NTC failure it would show up as an F05 or F06 error code.

Re: Running a UK washing machine on 220V 60Hz

I have come across this issue twice before and from my experiance your machine simpley will not operate properly. The power supply goes into the main pcb and is distrubted around the machine from there……most likely the lower frequency of 50Hz has damaged the pcb. Every component in your machine will be rated to run at 60hz, not just the pump.

Quick answer…you need a new washing machine

Name of the part is a “hopper cover”

Re: hotpoint aqualtis weight coil springs

Yeah special tool is needed to remove the springs, not sure if one is available to buy as no part number was supplied. Regardless if it is under 5yrs or over 5yrs the best way to get it repaired is through Hotpoint. Just priced the tub you need and its £242stg.

Electronics as such dont give much trouble on these machines as its the 3phase Arciada boards that are used but I could nearly bet there is a hole on your door seal just beside the door interlock and also the pumps get a bit rattley on these after a few years all of which bumps up the price of the parts you would need.

Re: Cannon electric oven heating erratically

As Martin says the logical part to replace first would the ntc/thermister that senses the temperature and gives the feedback to the main board.

After that then i would be thinking the potentiometer/selecter switch.

Also make sure the door is closing and sealing properly and that the oven fan is turning ok.

If you pay the £240 to Hotpoint they would more than likely replace the main pcb, selector and ntc together.

Re: My 12 Year old Bosch Classixx 1400 just caught fire

Sounds like the heating element….very unusual for that to happen. It wouldnt hurt to send an e-mail with photos to Bosch but as the machine is well out of warranty what I think they will susjest is to send out one of their engineers to inspect the machine at your expense. So probley best put your money into a new machine.

When buying a new machine a good judge to go by is the warenty offered….you want to be going with something that has a 5 – 10year parts warenty and pay for the extra warenty that will cover the labour also, it will be the cheapest £100 you pay. Budget the extra cover into the price of your machine.

Unfortunatly what ever you buy will more or less be gaurenteed to breakdown at least once in the next 5 years.

Re: Hotpoint Aquarius CDT00 won’t turn on

This model of hotpoint dryrer is effected by the fire hazzard safety recall. Make sure and go onto http://www.safety.hotpoint.eu and register the dryer where you will offered either a free modification repair or a concessional sale for a new dryer.

Why your dryer isn’t starting my guess would be the stricker pin on the door is either bent or has been knocked off.

With the door of the dryer open, on the front panel of the dryer just above the door opening you will see a round hole.
There is a pin on the door itself that line’s up with this hole and press the door interlock switch.

The push button you mention dosnt actually click itself its the relay in the door interlock you hear clicking.

Have a look for the striker pin and if its not that get back and let me no.

Re: Dryer Timer Assemble (expert probably)

Brave move taking a timer apart.

Purely from a safety point of view i would strongley recommend buying a new timer.

The timer controls the element, drum rotation direction, cool down period and obviously the cycle time.

If u dont have the timer assembled exactly as it should your dryer becomes a real fire hazzard!!!

Sorry for not being of more help but i believe any so called expert in the appliance repair business would give you the same advice.

Broken wire to the dryer ntc. Usually where the wires are cable tied to the cabinet.

    Mike,

Im thinking either could be door interlock related ( uncommon on bosch to be fair) or either something jamming the drain pump. First thing any dishwasher does is pump out.

    Nevis,

Check the motor brushes. Classic indication of motor brushes when the doir locks but the door lock light does not illuminate.

    Re: Zanussi DX6452 not heating

Common on this model for a dry or burnt solder connection on the heater relay located on the main pcb

Isolate dishwasher from the mains supply!!

    -remove door skin
    -remove front panel
-remove star head screw from main pcb
-clip out pcb from front panel
-at this point take a photo of wire locations
    -removed all wires from pcb
    -remove pcb from plastic housing
-look closely at the soldered connections on rear of board
-if there is a bad solder simply re-solder it

Check this first b4 ordering an element.

    Re: hot point aqualtis 1400spin

    F-05 is a a drainage problem.
Here are the things to check:

First of all isolate the machine from the mains power supply!!

    Check the filter first:
    -remove front kick strip
-filter located on right hand side
-have a few towels handy, filter screws out anti clockwise
    -remove any foreign objects
-reach in and make sure pump impeller turning freely
    -refit filter until hand tight.

If the filter does not screw relativly easy do not force it as it will break. If this is the case do this:

-pull machine out of its posistion
    -tilt the machine backwards
-remove 2 star head screws located beside the filter
-these screws hold the filter and pump housing in place
-turn the housing clockwise to relese it and let it drop down
-get a basin or a saucepan and put it under the housing
-use cup pliers or shifters to remove the clamp from the black hose
-remove the black sump house from the filter housing
-this will let u remove any objects (usually hair grips) that is preventing the filter from turning.
-then check the pump and filter
    – reassemble

If you are this far into the machine at this point u should check the sump also. (Other end of the black hose attached to the drum)

-star head screw or 8mm socket to loosen clamp
    -pull sump down to remove
-remove anything blocking (Do not remove the ball)

If after trying all this u find nothing blocking the sump or filter you could have a faulty drain pump. If your really really unlucky it could also be a triac blown on the main pcb.

If ur aquiltas is one of the newer models with a linear pressure switch it is possible after clearing any blockage alls the machine will do is pump out constantly, if this is the case reprograming the main board will be needed.

To be honest it is always something either causing a blockage or jamming the pump. So take your time and dont rush the job and you should save yourself a call out charge.

    Re: Hotpoint Liberator Wanted

    James,

I was in behind Callaghans of Burt today looking for 2nd hand parts and i noticed two old type hotpoint dryers, they are not the Liberator models but are definatly 30 plus years old. They are not in great shape but maybe they would be good for you for parts. Callaghans will have no problem with u taking these with you as long as u go in and speak to Dermott first.

    G.
