Has the machine been moved/re-installed recently?
If so, it sounds like an installation fault!

The only problem is the shop! There’s two of us, but GB senior hates running the shop. He needs to out fixing stuff.
When he’s on holiday, I’ll run the shop for a few hours in the morning, then spend the rest of the days doing calls. As you can guess, that is a pain for my customers and delivery-drivers 😕 The other option is to get rid of the shop, but it’s been here 30 years, and was paid for a looooonnnng time ago. It’s a good base, but if I’m working by myself, that is all it will be, a base!
The other option is the scariest! Employ someone to run the shop! :eeek:

Cheers guys 🙂
It will be a v.slow transition, at best 😉 but I’m looking forward to it.
I’ll give you some more details later 😛

Even I’ve fixed the old, pain-the-*rse Hpt’s with the purple glass in the doors. I’ve even done a bearing job on one! That was when you could just a blow-torch to remove bearings 😈

Indeed 😀 My father started an apprenticeship when he was 16, and large appliances were just arriving in everyones home! He’s now 55, and is flirting with retirement.
I started working for him between college and uni, and then never bothered with uni! That was 8 years ago 😆

Bizzare! 😕 I wonder if it was repaired.
I must admit to doing something slightly similar to a new oven once  It was a slot-in single. I’d had it out of the packaging for 2 minutes, when I had to dent in the back, top corner because of a huge work-top backet 😕 Luckily I’m a great engineer, and I made sure it was all kosher!
Shhh, don’t tell!

I don’t like them 😕
Saying that, I’ve got one in my workshop for cleaning other vacs, and tumble dryers with 😛
It’s not that there a bad vacuum, it’s the fact that you can’t get parts for them! It’s a Chinese vac, so only the popular stuff is available; belts, filters, maybe tools. But for anything else, your waiting for months for the parts on a slow boat from China.
Can’t be repaired = unpopular with engineers :shake:

:eeek:
It’s bad enough buying spares from them! I don’t do work for WP’s mesen so I have no real opinions.
But, there’s a ton of discussion about working for them in the rumour forum. A ton! Seriously, loads of it!

How long is a piece of string?
Hmmmmmmmmmmm!
If this was a Hayne’s manual, I’d give it 3 spanners 8)
Of course, unplug the appliance first!

ParticipantRe: Using Laptops in the field
Between me and GB senior, whoever is going to a outside job, takes the laptop. The case is big enough for a printer and a good set of tools too!
It looks professional, and is full of parts info. Not to mention that the work is then processed once, in the customers house at the end of the job, so it cuts down on admin 😀
As for it getting stolen :eeek: Whoever has it, knows that to lose it, would be a moral sin, punishable by dismemberment! The solution is simple…
Never let go of it!
Never!
