No problem, seems strange to obsolete at such a young age.
    Thanks for your help though.

I feel your pain. Exactly my experience, I would be out of business if had only used Qualtex.

Hopefully the Qualtex forum watchers don’t report you to the sales manager and you get your account closed like me.

To be honest the only thing I miss them for is the ability to get find manufacturers part numbers.

Connect, Maddock’s and Aswo offer way better service all round.

    The silence says it all.

To be honest, if it is the same Dave, Dave Spragge (Web content Manager), that emailed me to inform me of the closure, he says in a previous email when I asked for a reason, “Unfortunately I’m unsure on the reason, I was asked to advise you of this by our sales manager”

We apologise this has happened, I believe Steve has contacted you this morning to discuss and explain.

if you would like to discuss anything else further or you haven’t had a response you can contact Steve or alternatively you can send myself a message on here.

For general information on yesterdays issue, some workers cut through our fibre lines at about 11am, An engineer was sent out on high priority and they finally fixed the lines around 16:00.

    Kind Regards,

    David. Qualtex.

Now it would seem that having spoken to Steve, after having placed my rant online an hour earlier because I was getting nowhere on email, about the quality of service, he has today closed my account.
We had a conversation about the issues and he accepted it wasn’t good enough and that hopefully the parcel would be sent out on Friday which indeed it was. I received it the Saturday, having ordered on Tuesday morning.

So just a word of warning to anybody, you are not allowed to mention Qualtex’s service and how bad it has been. Even allowing for me being in the business for 31 years and using them for most of their existence, you cannot criticise them on an open engineers forum.

Its no big loss to be honest I’ve been using them less and less over the last few years due to stock issues, backorder issues, their new statement and online payment issues and no telephone support plus the fact they now cannot guarantee delivery within 4 days.

But just for people that actually do want to keep an account, don’t mention Qualtex or you know the consequences.

DavidQ – Could you please inform me when the system will be back up and running at full pace because I cant trust ordering another parcel from you and it taking a week to arrive. I’m only using Qualtex to replenish van stock and not for customer orders.

Ive had similar, a couple of weeks ago. Ordered it on the Wednesday morning. Noticed it hadn’t been posted. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and waited a day. Noticed Thursday it still hadn’t been dispatched. I got in touch with them on Friday, to be told it was because of a new system and they didn’t know when it would be delivered. I got it Tuesday morning. Nearly a week later and not so very happy customers at my end.
I just cant trust them with parts for customer. I will probably still use them for stock items, just not urgent parts.

Ive got to say, im a late adopter of ASWO. Ive had an account with them for maybe only 6 months and they are my new go to supplier. Next day delivery from France is great and the odd occasion it hasn’t turned up next day, but the day after, a quick email to them and they have refunded the whole postage.
Dont get me wrong, I always check around all suppliers for the best prices but they have regularly been the cheapest for the majority of items and great customer service.
I agree, Connect prices have gone up and not being able to talk to an agent is a problem. At last ive got my Qualtex account back up and running.

My account still isn’t working yet. I’m using Aswo and Maddocks a lot more now and find their service to be great. Even if they reopen my account (i regularly spent more than 1K a month) Im not sure i’ll go back now.

I guess you can tell easily if you are on of the chosen few who can still order with Qualtex. Every single item is out of stock for me. So basically if it is showing stock for items, you can choose. I used to spend at least £1k a month with them before lockdown so god knows what tier I was but I honestly think its just random.

I emailed them on Monday to ask what the situation was. They are only supplying to a few customers in numbers that they can cope with at the minute. So i presume the higher up the feeding chain you are the earlier you get access. Its strange how every other supplier has been able to cope but not Qualtex.

Their website has never stopped working for me since they closed on the 27th March. I still cant order and the opening message has never changed. Ive still been able to check model numbers and prices and compare. They’ve lost so much of my trade since closing. It would be good to have them back.
