ParticipantNow its Connects turn to delay their orders. The last two times ive ordered over the last week, i’ve had an email the next morning saying,
Dear Customer,
Please accept our apologies but unfortunately the order you have placed with us, invoice number xxxxxxxxxx, has been delayed and will now be delivered by DPD tomorrow instead of today.
We would like to apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
Kind regards
Customer Service TeamIt looks like this may be catching on everywhere and 48 hour delivery will now be the norm

ParticipantI’m also with Sumup, so I can also vouch for how good the service is. I’ve also had a couple of faulty readers in my 3 years of being with them, but they send you a new one within a couple of day for free every time. First class and the virtual terminal is greta. Being able to take a payment over the phone is invaluable.

ParticipantIts like Dave says, you don’t feel any heat with these machines. I get loads of complaints from customers with these machines that have been sold them on the understanding that they are efficient. The customer isn’t told that they dont actually heat and take an eternity to dry a load.
I’ve given up repairing them.grooster
ParticipantNo its not the child lock. I did check that and it engages and disengages it when the 2 buttons are pressed.

Participantits lessthan 3 years old and its in a warm new house. Theres no signs of water damage inside, that’s the strange thing. I think I’m going to have to hand this one on unfortunately.

ParticipantI can’t just tell form the model number but If its like all the modern BSH machines, you just need to remove the right hand side panel. Unplug the mains cable and remove the pcb. The heat pump is then directly in front of you. Pull it towards you and twist anti clockwise to remove the top hose and it comes straight out after you’ve removed the wiring. Theres a rubber fixing on the top of the heat pump that connects to the sump, to keep it all in place and stop vibration, just pull this off. Its pretty much the reverse procedure to install. It comes with a new jubilee clip for the hose but I’ve found from experience that it just pushes in nice and tight without the need for slackening the old clip or replacing with a jubilee. Its a really easy job and I can do them in 15 mins. It all becomes obvious when you see it, a little hard to explain. Hope this helps.

ParticipantI would definitely swap the pump. Ive had many an intermittent pump on these newer ones. Even the tiniest amount of hairs ar debris will make these fault. Also take a look under the filter and make sure the flap that leads to the pump is still in place. This can cause the pump to fault at the end of the cycle.

ParticipantI dont know the models but before I tip any Hotpoint backwards, I take the lid and look for one of the newer pressure switches (pressostats) If its the newer type DO NO TIP

ParticipantFrom memory, they twist around about half way and then you can pull it out. Same for putting it back in. Locate, push and twist.

ParticipantI’ve had this many, many times on Hotpoint washers. I’ve learnt the hard way. I never tip the machine backwards to empty it. I always keeps the machine running on a drain/spin function while trying to get the water out, either by lowering the hose into the washing up bowl or even as a last resort cracking open the filter and slowly getting the water out that way into towels. I know if its worked when the drum starts to turns while its on a spin/drain.
The machine needs to know itself that the water has left and the pressostat has reset. You’re knackered though if the filter is jammed. Its the most infuriating fault and i’ve tried everything over the years to get the pcb to reset manually. Once its locked out in my experience only a reprogram of the pcb will work.grooster
ParticipantI’ve had all of the above but more worrying is that 2 out of my last 3 parcels to arrive, parts have been missing. For example I ordered 3 Bosch door seals and there were only 2 there. I ordered a Beko oven switch and its on the invoice but wasn’t in the box as well.
I dont know if your the same as me but I dont count and tick the items off the invoice as I get them. If there is a spare part for a customer, I always look out for it first but if its just for stock, I put the parts away without thinking. I just wonder how many times this has happened in the past without me knowing about it.
Tick your parts off the invoice as you get them, just to be sure!!grooster
ParticipantYes, I saw that on their website but i’m sure somewhere it mentioned electronic failure or sensor failure.
Thanks
