Participantdepends how good you are with a meter
quite possibly, its the defrost heater
to test, press and hold in top left and top right buttons together for 8 seconds, when the display goes blank, let go then when it comes back on, tell us what u see
hope that makes sense
helo_75
Participantyep, but u will need a new display pcb
cue penguin for the part number (i dont have partfinder on this terminal)
helo_75
Participantairflow around the machine doesnt affect the drying process.. its how it blows around in the appliance that matters
seems pretty strange that at only three weeks old its giving like that kind of problem – that being said, nothings impossible for one of them, or indeed any hotpoint / merloni machine
call someone out if your not sure, possibly the fans already dropped off or somethings failed
helo_75
Participantoh, sorry, its a wd420
do you have have both pipes connected, that could be the answer
miss read the original post
its more likeley an airflow/water supply problem
3 weeks old? is it new or did you buy it second hand?
helo_75
Participantjust the usual energy use/annoyance of the thing
thats all really
and at some point it will just do the program over and over and over and over again
helo_75
Participantthe condensers probably blocked, thats the plastic trunking on the back of the drum
PLUG OUT AND PROTECTIVE gloves if your gonna investigate
theres lots of sharp edges
helo_75
Participanti think, from what i read, your actually after the display pcb?
is it because the blue lights are just flickering?
as penguin says, u need to be more specific
helo_75
Participantits a programmable chip that inserts onto a surface mounted chip holder on the pcb, which contains the software for your machine, the pcb tends to be the same in most machines, its the eprom that identifies it
every machine has a different one, unless hotpoint fit it, they fit a blank one and reprogramme it using their laptop… not an option for the independants, indesit wont supply the software
hope this helps
oh, and before u ask, no you cant take the eprom from your original board, its not the same, service parts are different to the original
helo_75
Participantthe pcb is faulty
common fault that, and youll need to fit an eprom too
sorry
helo_75
Participanti dont take the tub out to replace the bearings…..
helo_75
Participantull probably need the serial number off the machine
helo_75
Participantlast one i did was the selector
but there must be some sort of trigger stat on the oven cavity
helo_75
Participantits usually the pcb, and with that, you’ll need an eprom, or probably lookin at £90 + for both parts
typical merloni rubbish, bin it and buy a bosch if u can afford it
helo_75
Participant10 flashes is a possible pressure switch/pcb fault
there are 2 lamps, and u can tell by the thickness of the wires, if its a thin wire, with a small plug, then its idc, hence 12v… if its thick wires with spade terminals, its 240v
surely indesit should know this via the serial number, and its very important if your gonna change the pcb (and eprom)
id be more worried about your f10 fault rather than a lamp tbh
its usually the pcb
hope this helps
helo_75
Participantits most likeley its just the oven element
click the link below if you want to order a patr, and could u please supply the pnc number off the machine?
