Participantamazing that
cos i WORK for comet and all our job sheets state 2yr warranty, and customers know fine well they do
not gonna argue this point anymore
helo_75
Participantyep, everything comes in the kit
i got one of them and its ace
only thing u may need is a 15mm tap
helo_75
Participantwell said bryan
someones gotta take responsibility somewhere
ive never seen a blocked samsung, nor an internal leak, in fact, system wise, they tend to be extremely reliable… so id say the compressor (which is easy on a samsung, lots of room, easy fitting, etc) isnt actually a bad job
even though im a comet engineer, id think someones made a bad decision, and id insist on a repair
helo_75
Participantor u could take the easy route, only take one out, and loosen the other, and just slide it off
then if you drop one, you can still hook the relay under the screw you left and tighten it up, dont matter if theres only one!!
however, theres always the option of not dropping them in the first place!!

Participantu might as well write to mcdonalds
helo_75
Participanthotpoint did supply a machine fit for purpose.. somebody else wired it up wrong!
helo_75
Participantyup, for a suitable replacement
helo_75
Participantnope, comet do have a responsibility to repair or replace the appliance.
its policy, since theyve adopted the bought out guarantee policy, the responsibility lies at their feet
either way, id be surprised it theyd wrote it off for a compressor, a relatively easy repair. its strange really, working for them, i know how keen they are to get the things working again
helo_75
Participanttrust me that is incorrect bryan.
chances are, it would be summinka lot worse than compressor failure, theres probably more to it than just that.
theres no way comet would give an sed to a machine 13mths old if it was just that, it would have had a compressor
helo_75
Participantf12 is non communiction error between the two pcb’s
u mayhave fittted wrong pcb, you cant really fit it wrong, maybe theres a wire off somewhere, maybe u got a duff main pcb,(at the bottom)
but youll need te serial number to obtain the right pcb/ eprom.. and youll need to identify if the drum has a sensing strip round it or not so u can get the right part

Participantis that a built in fridge?
helo_75
Participanthang on
a refund? the fact that youve had it 13 months counts for nothing?
if your gonna ask advice , please make us aware of the facts
comet wiil, and do give the monetary value of your appliance back to you in the form of vouchers, its the same thing… go to comet and buy a suitable equivalent
they arent being unreasonable, its about keeping losses down.. what do you want them to do? give u cash back so you can go to currys? its no different to you selling something on ebay, it going faulty and you give them their money back.. that machine will have cost them money!
aint that simple mate, not at all, i work for comet, and ur lucky they recognised the fault for you, now play fair, thake the vouchers and go and buy yourself a fresh appliance, itll cost u nothing, probably less, and you’ll have a warranty
no need to be unhappy with comet, they dont make thte applainces do they?

Participanttell you what… hows about asking the questions instead of stating your intent
time and time again people come onto a forum, and try and stir up discontent, when its a forum to ask questions
take it up with samsung, with your fancy words and well written verse, the facts dont change
why did you buy a samsung? because it was better quality than say the admiral, or the miele
no, cos it was CHEAPER, no other reason
and now your complainin because your product isnt what you think its should be, what with you being an appliance designer and all that
still, u ‘reckon’ your fault lies with the defrost sensor and that is your problem.. if its not, what are you gonna do? moan some more? for the love of god, call someone in if your not sure, your samsung 3-4 years old, and you ant someone to pay for your repair AND lost food?
if your car broke down after 3 years, would you take it back and demand a free repair? or if it failed its mot, would you go back and demand the remedy, free? no, and u may well have spent £20 – 30,000 on that, and bear in mind ur fridge freezer runs 24/7.. so u consider how long that compressor/fan runs for and it is quite reasonable to expect some wear and tear?
if you drove your car at 70miles an hour 24/7.. ud expect problems, wouldnt you?
thing is, things break down, and there are proffessional people on here who offer good advice, free to you, the consumer
increasingly, customer expectations have become excessively high for products that are falling in price.. like i said, u didnt choose the samsung over a miele because you liked the look of it, it was a £1,000 less, but of course, we aint supposed to think of that are we?
