erm, correct me if im wrong but does the machine have a defrost timer?

i think it does, and thats the usual culprit

the freezer working correctly would suggest over icing in the freezer, blocking the air vents

in the first instance, id defrost it for 48 hrs first (with doors open)

if it works ok when switched on, then itll be the timer stuck.. nice easy repair!

hard to advise, but for most, zanussi tend to be a quality product for reasonable money

dont buy a hotpoint, loads of problems for the price they are

btw, your machine probably just needs a relay.. the dryer itself is better than any hotpoint machine you can buy these days.

    E0 (Freezer sensor failure):
    – Entry: If measured sensor value is open circuit or short circuit
    – Behaviour during error: Compressor and freezer fan run continuously. Freezer bar-graph display will be off.
    – Exit: If the sensor value is correct (not open or short) error is omitted.
    E1 (Freezer defrost sensor failure):
    – Entry: If measured sensor value is open circuit or short circuit
    – Behaviour during error: Defrost heater will be switched on for 25min. during normal defrost.
    – Exit: If the sensor value is correct (not open or short) error is omitted.
    E3 (Fridge sensor failure):
    – Entry: If measured sensor value is open circuit or short circuit
    – Behaviour during error: Baffle should be opened for 3min. and closed for 7 min. Fridge bar-graph display will be off.
    – Exit: If the sensor value is correct (not open or short) error is omitted.
    E4 (Defrost heater failure):
    – Entry: If defrost time is equal to the maximum defrost time of 60min. for 3 consecutive defrosts this error is shown.
    – Behaviour during error: Control runs defrost heater normally.
    – Exit: When a defrost finishes shorter than maximum time of 60min error is omitted.
    E8 (Ice sensor failure):
    – Entry: If measured sensor value is open circuit or short circuit
    – Behaviour during error: Ice machine should not operate.
    – Exit: If the sensor value is correct (not open or short) error is omitted.

    – Behaviour during error: Ice machine should not operate.
    – Exit: If ice-off is selected, or if during initialisation switch changes as described.
When the failure is corrected the error code will disappear on the display and control will run according to normal related algorithm.

    no, dont post it

you do realise that wherever or however you got it, its copyrighted manufacturer information

if you post it it will be deleted, the rules on this site are there for a reason

if your motors been ‘ticking’ you need to check the armature for lifted segments, a new motor may well be needed

    good luck

if u use your meter its as easy as putting the probes on the wires, and warming the back of the fridge up with a hairdryer, and see if the resistance changes

    pcbs rareley cure that problem

as for the ice outside the appliance, thats more likeley just because its over running, which would suggest either the pcb is ignoring the sensor, or the sensor just isnt working

sorry for my delay in posting, i have so much to do lol

    good luck
