Is it this one, no mention of programming needed.

A strong possibility that the water has got onto the power module, especially if it has been dripping onto the pulley.

    Drain pumps very rarely leak.

Why did the belt come off?

Apart from the motor falling off only three reasons for a belt to come adrift, belt badly stretched, drum pulley loose or main bearing failure.

The dryer motor running continuously suggests a faulty power module, has the belt hit this when it came adrift?

    Re: BYWMI1216 Drum Bearings

Not familiar with this particular model but at least 75{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of washing machines made in the past ten years or so have totally sealed drums, ergo no bearing change possible, especially at the budget end of the market.

Have you checked to see if it has a sealed drum?

Even if it doesn’t then it is always sensible to try and remove the failed bearings first, often when doing this you will find extensive damage to the drum bearing shaft which may also make the repair a no go.

I have moved your post to the European forum, someone ‘may’ know what make your machine is under the skin or possibly have an idea of the problem.

Lying a machine down can cause serious problems depending on the make of the machine and even which side you laid it down on.

Just received this picture of a Hoover dryer that has caused major damage to a house in the West Country.

The person who sent me the picture had been told that it was made by Whirlpool. :rolls:

Ha, reminds me of the time that Hotpoint used a Zanussi made machine as a short term stop gap whilst a new production line came on stream over 40 years ago. The 1823 and 1826, pathetic spin speeds of 370 and 520 rpm at the time the current Hotpoint 1600 was doing 1100 rpm. The number of calls we got complaining of poor spin. 🙁

I went to do a warranty service call on one in Chadderton, walked in and said to the customer, “don’t tell me, let me guess, it’s jumping all over the place”. She was amazed, “how on earth did you know that, I haven’t told anyone”.

“Well the large concrete block that you are using to prop your gate open with is NOT part of the transit packing”. :rotfl:

You only need to change the element if it is OC or down to earth. Blockages, fan failure and ntc and connections most likely, especially ntc.

    Model number?

You should only change the heater if it is actually faulty. 😉

Did the drum in the machine have the old flat backed drum or the one with the bevelled edge at the back?

If it has the old flat rear edged drum then that back panel should not be fitted without also changing the drum.
